I was excited about this challenge. I was ready to make pages I love. I had meant to go to the store and pick out different paper than what I had to get something that I really liked. Anyway, it took awhile, so I decided to make a page with paper I already had. It turned out ok and I like it. Then, I did end up going to the store and got paper like I was thinking about getting and did a page with that as well. I like that one too. So you can see which you like better- paper I had or paper I bought just for this challenge.

Here is the page I made with the paper I just bought (along with the coordinating two page spread)

Wow, Tammy, that was fast! I didn't know you were on here!

I made my s and w with my handy dandy cricut machine. It was great because I could make them 5 1/2 inches and then make the other letters smaller. I really love how I can make things any size I want.

I keep telling my husband how it's already almost paying for itself! He still doesn't understand how it's saving him any money. :ROFLOL:

Those pages look great. I like both versions--with the paper you already had and with the paper you bought. And you got four pages done! :)

I was thinking a cricut machine would have been great for this challenge as I struggled over how to create my letters. So I convinced a good friend of mine who scrapbooks with me all the time that it would be a great investment and we're going to split the costs and share the machine. It may be challenging at times, but it makes the cost a lot easier to swallow (especially for my husband)!

great pages! i love both of them, i am a little more partial to the new paper, but i love the distressed look on the polka dot ones.
and as someone had mentioned, you got 4 pages done! awesome!

disneyfalcon..i am so jealous. well not really jealous, but envious. i don't know when i can go back to disney. my hubby just doesn't get why i want to always go there and he can't see spending that kind of money.

there are so many other places i want to go and see also, i really wished i had the money to take two vacations a year, 1 would always be disney and then the other would be other places in this country.

eagles I know the feeling. My dh is trying to impress on me the need to see other spots!

He told me for our 20th anniversary (in two years) he wants to go somewhere special just the two of us. I asked if by "special" he meant "does not include the word Disney"?

I am crazy excited about this trip though. We haven't made it to the world in 2 1/2 years. In the interim we've been on a Disney cruise and Disneyland multiple times both of which I have loved- but I'm so excited to make it back to WDW!!! We're going with 16 people and we're all on free dining. That will also be a new experience with multiple table service meals and not feeling the need to share all the time to save money!

I also have never been with a digital camera before!! I'm almost afraid of how many pictures I'm going to take!!:D And how many pages I'll have to do when I get back!

i have decided to LOOK at prices, and see what it would cost if i went and took only my granddaughter. so far it doesn't look too bad! my version of too bad and my hubbys version i am sure will not be the same. LOL

but if i stay at shades of green, and only pick 2 character meals, i just might beable to swing it.

now on the other hand, 2008 will be my 50th birthday and i get to choose, but i wanted to do something just with hubby. which i was thinking about going to discovery cove.

so now, i am in a dilemma!

oops! this is our scrapbooking forums, LOL

We are totally hijacking this thread!!

But we are talking Disney so we should be good.

Are you military eagles? My Dh is in the air force - 18 years now. We love shades of green. We couldn't stay there this time because we wanted free dining.

I have ALWAYS wanted to go to discovery cove too! I just can't ever bring myself to spend the money!

How exciting! Planning a trip to the world will make you so much more excited to finish your disney scrapbooking! I'm excited for you already!

As far as me getting four pages done for the challenge- I'm not that excited about that. I have so many pictures from that trip that I'm kinda like 'how many more water pages am I going to have to do?' It's fun for the first couple and then it becomes tedious. And I have bowling and mini golfing pictures to do with them too. I just want to be done with it!

hubby and myself are retired navy.

discovery cove would probably cost about as much as a 6 nite stay at shades of green. so hmmm, i know which i would choose.

i just don't think i can sell it to hubby. i just sold the idea of getting another horse (easy sell though, the horse was free LOL) but another trip to disney. i will have to use wifely charms. LOL

Ok, dumb question, what is discovery cove? I know I've seen it mentioned in threads before, but I can't remember what it is.

I know I'm lazy, I could just do a search, but I knew one of you ladies would help me out! :)

edit: eagles thank you and your husband and tammy's husband for me- we owe you everything! I'm really a girly girl, but sometimes I think about joining the services because what you do for this country is so important!

Jenn, that's so nice of you to say! Thank you very much.

Discovery Cove is the Sea World park where you get to swim with dolphins! It looks incredible to me - but it's crazy expensive!!

Thank you! Is the only thing you get to do is swim with the dolphins, or do you get to go to sea world too for the price?

Just curious, not really looking at going any time soon.

It's a bit of a water park itself and you stay all day. You get either the morning or the afternoon with the dolphins, getting ready, etc.

Then the other part of the day you can float in the lazy river, swim with sting rays, swim in a coral reef, regular pool, relax on the beach, etc. You also get lunch.

Then you get a pass that's good for a few days at seaworld.

I think I have all that right!:)

i think you got that pretty well correct. i know when i called and asked about it, there are lots of different packages to choose from also. i was looking at the trainer for the day package.
