Trip Report We are GROOT!

Hello friends! Well it has finally arrived and the five of us are packed up and headed to Disney World for a mega trip. We are on the road now and stopping in Columbia, South Carolina for the night. (Max we also have 2 Toyotas)We left a little later than we wanted to because our 2 cats, sensing our departure, escaped outside.

The cast is the same as usual, my crazy Disney family, my husband, Den, my oldest son Hunter, 18, middle child Camden, 11, Brinley, 7 and me, Deighton! Hunter graduated from highschool on June 2 and is doing a year at community College to get his prerequisites out of the way. Our extended trip is his graduation present. (His choice! Who am I to say no.) Plenty of details to come! Happy Thursday everyone! Woohoo!!

Next up the Vistana which ended up being a 5 minute drive with traffic. Digging the hot tub and the room sizes for sure!

Wow! What a spacious suite you all had. And that in-suite hot tub! In some instances, when choosing off-site lodging,, I think the accommodations are superior to those at Disney hotels. (Of course you don't get the same on-site park amenities, etc., but at least you got to experience all that with your first on-site hotel, of your vacation.) So now, enjoy and relax!!

I will let you know what I think when it is all over. I think after hitting the world petty hard for 10 days, it is a good escape before returning to reality. The kids having more space and not under us all the time is amazing!

It is 75 degrees here and the high is only 86. It rained a lot last night and more rain is expected today. I am going to start calling this trip helicopters, automobiles and boats!

I am not complaining but... at the Boardwalk if we slept in or took a nap, every 15 minutes the boat honked when pulling into dock. Here there are constant helicopters over head and 18 wheelers honking there big rigs randomly. It has made for very broken sleep. We just laugh at this point.

My team is letting me down today. Den has FaceTime meetings all morning. We have reservations in Animal Kingdom and everyone wants to stay here and chill even Brin.

The kids played ball in the pool last night for a few hours. Then the thunder rolled in and everyone out. I ended up making Cajun chicken fajitas last night. They were a big hit. Home cooked food! Sorry no pictures. I had a single crown apple on the rocks at the pool bar. It was almost a quadruple shot for 13 dollars. The rest of the night was hazy and comical. While I cooked the kids and Den played shut the box and then a very competitive game of go fish!

Bacon and Canadian bacon are currently cooking for breakfast. Maybe that will wake my little, lazy angels up!

Quick question which I believe I already know the answer to. I just didn't know if anything has changed. If I have a hopper pass and a reservation at AK. Do I have to check in at AK before I would go to MK?

Yes , but I think after 2 you don’t have to. But, not an authority on this like @Tuvalu

We have literally done nothing all day. I can't remember a time when we did so much nothing!! At noon we decided to leave planet nothing and go for a swim before the rain comes in. On our way we met a friend!

Cam was talking to it but it didn't respond!

We got to the pool and it was closed already for the incoming weather. Back to Planet Nothing we went! We are going to head to Disney Springs with ponchos.

Churros got a C rating from the kids. It was called sunshine churros in a kiosk for any of you churros lovers out there.

Stop off to get cleaned up after the messy churros! Current location Jack Lindsey's Hanger Bar.

We were sitting on that ledge when a storm moved in quickly and we were forced inside. So The Hangar has happy hour from noon to 3 pm Monday thru Friday. We really enjoyed our time here and the food! The 2 happy hour specials are a pretzel with mustard and an outstanding beer cheese sauce served on a cool airplane Hanger. Sorry I only have a picture of the hanger

The other special was chips and queso. Again a really solid app. 8 dollar a piece! Definitely a great Disney deal!

A definite will return!

Brin established at the very beginning of this vacation at Boatwrights a system of communicating that has turned into a running joke. All you have to do is ask her what she thinks about anything.

This system has definitely led to hours of conversation. She is usually pretty on target OR WAY OFF!

Next up House of Blues. In case you don't know when you walk into HOB they take a family picture. While you are eating the photographer comes to the table and brings a package of 5 pictures with various backgrounds. They charge 25 dollars. We are suckered! Plus the pictures are pretty funny.

We took most of the food we ordered to go except Denny.

Cajun chicken pasta. I will not subject future me or you to another picture of mac n cheese.

I think its worth seeing in theaters. Animation is top notch. Story is a little simplistic.

I just got back from my 10-night Disney World vacation last night.
I started following yours at the beginning, but of course my trip got in the way.
So glad to see what you've been doing the last 11 days, and glad you seem to have had a great time!!!
I certainly did too!
And now it's time to start thinking about the next one and start a new countdown!
