Wanted to share...a new cake popped up today...

This is an 8" cake from the BW bakery...$62.

I guess this is proof that there's a significant price increase for fondant. What's funny, I've used this same technique on a golf themed cake and a Muppet cake. I swear, it's less effort to me to roll out fondant than it is to cover a whole cake in fur/grass piping. Either way, it's a cute cake.

Do gluten free options attract a higher price tag? This is my first trip gluten free. We are on our first trip together as a couple after 3 years of being with family so are spending a couple of nights at bay lake tower. I'm thinking a wee cake waiting on us would make it more magical as champagne is wasted on us. I am gluten free though. Also is it just white and chocolate cake in your experience?

While I've never ordered a gluten free cake through any of the WDW bakeries, I've seen mixed experiences with prices. For example, the average simple decoration buttercream mini wedding cake is usually $35...I've seen some gluten free mini wedding cakes go for the same $35 price tag and I've seen others with quotes as high as $75.

Example...this mini wedding cake below is gluten free and was $35. I believe this was made by the GF...

This gluten free one is an 8", made by the GF and $65...

This gluten free 6" was also made by the GF for $55

And finally, this is a 6" from the Contemporary for $78

Vanilla and chocolate are the only gluten free flavors I've seen from the WDW bakeries, but I have seen people add fresh fruit fillings to jazz it up...those usually add at least $10 (or more) to the price.

Thank you for all that information. Am I too late to order one? We cHeck in 2 weeks on Monday

You should be fine. Custom cakes can be ordered with as little as 48 hours notice if they are not overly elaborate. Id still reach out now though, just in case there are any issues. Sometimes it can take a few days to a week to hash out details, so I'd get the ball rolling today if you can.

We normally get a gluten free cake for four of us (two adults and two kids) from the Grand Floridian and it lasts several days. We started with a budget of $100, but our last few have been in the $150-$200 range. They have always been excellent! The cakes have been posted here, but let me know if you'd like to see them again. Thanks

Is there a thread or a website that shows all the different screen print images for the cakes? I would love to see what options are out there. I've seen some on here but would love to see all of them that are available. Thanks so much!!

Unfortunately, I have not seen anything like that. Apparently, there are quite a few options, but they also change periodically as copyright agreements change. The latter part may be why there's no book. Is there a specific character you're looking for? If so, I can go in search of some examples.

I was hoping for a good one of Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. Although Mickey and Minnie would be fine too. Thank you for your help!

Ugh, okay. So I just tried to book a reservation for BOG, the restaurant we really want to do, but it's fully booked for the 7th of October :(

What other restaurants in Magic Kingdom can have the screen print cakes? Any recommendations?

I'm sorry you weren't able to get a reservation. You could have a cake delivered to any of the TS spots in MK. BOG is definitely the hardest ADR to get in all of WDW. The place often books up in mere minutes right on day 180. If you can't get into BOG... the Plaza, Tony's, Crystal Palace, CRT, and LTT are the other TS options inside MK. You might have to be flexible with when and where and you may have to do a bit of stalking if nothing's currently open for these places either. I expect places to be pretty full since it's less than a month from this date and free dining was offered for this period. Still, I wouldn't give up hope. While I book my ADRs at the 180 mark, I've been known to change my mind (sometimes a lot) or choose to add a few meals...so, I've had to stalk the website...sometimes checking 100+ times per day. It's crazy and sometimes frustrating, but it usually works. The last few weeks before travel are often the best for stalking since people fine tune plans at this point and don't want to hold onto anything with a credit card guarantee if it looks like their plans are shifting. Of course, stalking would also mean holding off on putting in your cake order as they'll need your reservation number to actually place the cake order. Another option...while it would involve leaving the park and likely involve some phone time ordering the cake- you could consider restaurants along the monorail loop or even Wilderness Lodge.

I am hoping that someone may have some advice. I am hoping to order a cake for my son's 3rd birthday (& first visit to WDW). We would have it delivered our first night during dinner at Chef Mickey's. I am thinking of a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme, but I have seen surprisingly few of these that don't involve just fondant. I really don't want fondant as I am trying to keep the costs down. Any suggestions or ideas? We don't "need" cake, but it would be very fun for my son to think that Minnie made a cake especially for him (he is in love with Minnie).

Very cute idea. I've seen a few people buy toys to go with the cake. While the toy sets aren't crazy cheap...it still winds up being cheaper to get a more basic buttercream cake where you can add on these elements. In fact, you could probably do one with an edible image for around $32 and then just have the toys added before serving. Love that he's in love w/Minnie- good taste ;)
