I Think it's all covered here. Big hair, shoulder pads, Fannypack and bunched up socks.

These are 1987 receipts I found recently. Adventureland Veranda in the Magic Kingdom was a favorite place for us to eat. We would sit outside and the boys would look for fish in the water beside the veranda.

What was that camera center purchase? A roll of film, or a Fun Saver camera?

Just WOW! I wish I would have thought to save my receipts from the past as a way to compare the prices!

I was cleaning our basement a few weeks ago and I found a stack of WDW receipts from probably the mid 1990's they were in a Caribbean Beach folder-thing and that is where we always stayed in the mid-1990's, so that is what I'm guessing the date is. Unfortunately, they were mostly all faded and I couldn't read hardly anything on them, so I threw them away.

I love threads like this!

Here's some pics from my first trip in 1986. I'm the adorable, 5-year old girl with the annoying hat (ever since I was a kid, the sun gets to me...I still have to wear a hat, and I'm 30!):

I wish they still offered this...people still talk about this photo (everyone thinks the pirate is a real person, lol)

I'm in the camp that misses the lush trees around the hub:

Somehow, a pinwheel on his head makes Pluto futuristic :ROFLOL:

My mom had really poor vision in the 80s, and got lost in the dark caves on TSL. My dad left her in there and some nice man had to help her out. She still won't go back. In this pic she still looks a little bit miffed about it, lol:

Looking tired:

And rainbows are apparently futuristic too, lol...but, I LOVED meeting EPCOT versions of characters, and wish they would bring them back (saw some newer ones in 2006, but haven't since):

This looks like the nice path from Frontierland to Liberty Square, but I'm not sure:

OMG, love these! Also, that looks like Mickey was possibly promoting Captain EO? That would be my guess for that costume in the 80's at EPCOT.

This thread tugs at my heart. I have sssoo many good memories of the 80"s and 90"s at WDW and what it was like. I really enjoyed it then. I go now but my memories tug at me.

Shhhh, dont let Disney know. There's an upcharge for that.

I really enjoyed those photos of the Poly. Wonder why they took out such a beautiful fountain.
That has been discussed many, many times, personally I think it is because the ventilation in the lobby isn't conducive to sufficient air flow to take out the moisture generated by the fountain. I believe that mold was becoming a major problem and todays phobia packed guests cannot handle the mold problems. Just my thought because there was no other really justifiable reason for its removal unless it was developing some other major plumbing issues as well.

That would make sense. I would have liked to see it though, too bad I missed it. I visited the Poly for the first time this year when me and my family went to get some of that special french toast they make. I do enjoy these threads that show me things long gone.
