I don't think that's a projection. It's just the way the flames reflect off the triangles on the sphere.

I'm not so sure, that is a pretty definite shape, and the pattern would have to be a little bit more similar on each sphere, but you may be right on this one.

it never ceases to amaze me how people pick things out of photos that I would never in a million years have noticed....I guess I'd never truly appreciate art then? :shrug: lol
