If I was to be condemned for writing long essays talking a stance against Popular or even Cult properties, I'd be in a keyless jail my friend. Tis' the nature of the Geeky beast!

Very true Servo, and this is the internet, not everyone's going to agree with everyone else. As someone who also loathes Lindsey Naegle approved buzz words and catchphrases to develop an opinion on something, I'll post whatever length I see fit to prove a point. No one said you had to read it and I already tried to get back on topic with my last post.

THink that's bad? For the 4th of July Fireworks show Disney actually let people walk back there and watch the show. I did get to see exactly where Tinkerbell landed as well as some signage from the Walt Disney story show. It was also a great place to take pictures of Backstage Tomorrowland.:D;)

It's pretty obvious. You can see part of the facade of whatever Main Street building it is, and the back, wharehouse looking part. It's pretty bad.

And yes, taking people backstage without an emergency reason is bad as well, IMO.

Yeah, but as I said, it did hit a bit of a Berserk Button.
Also, you'd hate to see some of the negative opinions on Animaniacs out there. Especially John K's (guy who made Ren and Stimpy), who thinks of it as one of the worst things to have ever happened to animation. Granted, John K has become the cranky old man who fondly remembers the good old days of the animation blogosphere, so he's got a ton of people against him too.

EDIT: May as well put up one of the best defenses of RObinsons: http://www.2719hyperion.com/2007/10/revisiting-robinsons.html
Though this thread has been pretty thoroughly derailed and kinda dead at the moment, may as well put the link out to it. I like 2719 Hyperion in general, very informative and a lot less whiny then other Disney blogs.

So while meandering through Tomorrowland last night, I have to say there is one of the most blatant cases of bad show I have ever seen in WDW.

While walking to CoP I noticed the new wall blocking where the Galaxy Palace Theater used to be, and right over it, in plain view is the unthemed back of Main Street.

And before everyone says I was looking for this, I wasn't. It was something that just caught my eye as I was walking around.

IMO this needs to be fixed ASAP.

I'm suprised you were able to resist making a "back side of main street" joke.

And I want my props as I neither caused nor have I participated in the MTR flame war.

However......:D.........., I have it on good authority that a little CGI Disney film called "G-Force" has debuted ahead of Potter which is only in it's second weekend. Hmmm.

Ugh, G-Force, now THAT'S one of the worst things Disney's made, alongside Beverly HIlls CHihuahua and Journey into YOUR Imagination.

Also, Internet Fight's a much better and funnier term then flame war.

I'm not defending the movie as I have not seen it. But for it to beat Potter so soon after Potter's debut has got to have people scratching their heads. I know the totals won't last but for this to happen like this is beyond amazing. It's as if Army just beat Southern Cal.

The sheriff is laughing tonight.

To paraphrase one remark about it I heard, there's just not enough parents with the nerve to say no to it and have their kids watch something decent.

You are exactly right.....after "Who wants to marry a Millionaire", then they came out with "Who wants to marry a Midget", I said TV has fallen to an all time low..........:hurl:

I think it is a collective agreement G-Force is embarassing for Disney.

Why?? Cause you don't like it??? They may have a surprise hit on their hands... I don't think they looked at this movie as one that would bring in Star Trek/Transformers/Harry Potter cash... But, it can be successful to them, therefore not an embarrassment at all....

Stuff like G-Force and Marry a midget or whatever just loosens the creative integrity Disney was known for. Makes Disney look even more like a greedy corporation in the eyes of the public. Just because it makes money, doesn't mean its always a good thing.

Well compared to Lion King, Aladdin, ALLPIXAR MOVIES, Beauty and the Beast, and TLM.... I don't think guinea pigs with smart remarks will top those epic tales.

I don't agree... I don't think the public will look at them as being any more greedy cause they made a movie about talking guinea pigs.. And we all know the creativity for their live actions movies haven't been there in a long time anyway... Shouldn't change the opinion of them being greedy though... A lot of studios put out bad movies, and those movies make some serious cash... Does that make those studios greedy too, or just plain old lucky to have a surprise hit when it wasn't geared to be that kind of movie???

I am not defending G-Force since I haven't and won't go see it.. Just playing a little devil's advocate here since so many people want to trash it without even seeing it...

Without G-Force many people think Disney is just a money hungry machine. G-Force just gives them more ammo. I love Disney, but not their latest DSA movies. Hopefully PatF will change my mind. I bet it will :D

... why wouldn't they shoot for greatness? This movie probably cost millions upon millions to make.

They should shoot for greatness, I don't disagree... But, the reality is, the movie disvision is a mess right now, and I think they know it... But are going too slow at fixing it, sadly... They can only rely on the Pirates franchise for so long...

Let's hope Tron is the turn around point they need... G-Force wasn't meant to be that movie...

Oh Princess and the Frog is definitely gonna rock. Looks gorgeous, plus Keith David's role as the villain should be fantastic.
They've been building up to a new age of Disney feature animation since Robinsons (and I hope this remark doesn't start the durn internet fight again), just as Great Mouse Detective started the buildup to the success that was Little Mermaid and beyond.
