I need a little help

After the reading the numerous upon numerous amount of threads detailing the different attractions being broken, repairs not being done maintenance not being kept up I have decided to write a letter/E-mail expressing my concern about the happiest place on earth. I do not want to sound like I'm complaining but it is out of sheer worry and concern that I want to address some issues. I know they likely know about all the things I would say but I feel I need to speak up otherwise I have no right to complain.

If someone could let me know the E-mail of Bob Iger and all the WDW Senior management as well as customer service that would be great. I looked online but was unsuccessful.

Maybe if I do my part I can at least say i tried.

Thanks

Worry not.. We have just returned from 2 amazing weeks at WDW - we were there every day and had no issues re. maintenance, cleanliness etc. Infact, I would even say that things were much impoved! Loads of tarps up around Fantasyland - so there are tons of improvements going on.

The Cast Members were all superb, really positive and on top form too.

Can't wait to go again next year!

i know this is not an address to the big shots but i have always had luck e mailing here, I write an e mail after every visit. (The good the bad and the ugly.) I know for a fact that they are looked at and copied to the appropriate departments. I have been told by many cast members that they have received a copy of my e mail from the higher ups. The last one i sent made it to the head of food and beverage for the entire WDW property. I really feel if we ALL would write our concerns to the Disney company we may get their attention. Ok so maybe i'm dreaming but a boy can dream cant he?????????????

I know a pet peeve of mine has been the downward spiral of the cleanliness of the bathrooms not just in the park but also the resorts public guest areas. I would write over and over again to tell them how unhappy and filthy they had become. (I had often compared them to the nasty large city bathrooms or gas station bathrooms.)
Im not just talking about when the park is packed but also on days when it was empty. (Ok so its never empty any more!) Guess i was not the only one who noticed because in the last 6 months or so they have seemed to do a much better job than in the past.
I think that after each visit everyone should write an e mail to guest relations about their experience no matter how good or bad it was. Be as detailed as you can with times, places and cast member names. It takes me all of about 20 to 30 minutes and as i have stated in other posts i know for a fact that they get copied to all departments involved and someone is held accountable for correcting or congratulating all involved.

Just remember, it is what you make of it. Whether the weather is lousy, rides are either not working or rehabed, crowds etc or whether you've waited many years to go back to Disney and saved or maybe a first time visit....Its your trip, if you constantly look at the negative you'll be missing all the positive around you! Yes we've had horrible rainy, cold weather.. Yes we've had crazy crowds and rides that we've been wanting to go on , or just not working ( even had A Hospital visit or two) ...We made the most of it..Why? Well as we know Disney no matter how you price it is not cheap, We waited , planned, saved for this trip .....and also your not at work or at home!

So while others may say they feel the magic is gone , Please, make the most of it Find and make some Magic!! Its your Vacation!:sohappy:

It sounds like you wan to write a letter based on what you've read here, not what you have personally experinced. I would say that unless you personally have had a negative experince you might want to hold off on the letter.

Before the internet, Disnay ran just fine in many people's eyes. As soon as we can share thoughts, ideas, and inside info its all the end of the world. Nothing runs perfect. Especially when its open 365 days a year. If you were not on these kind of sites; would you ever even think twice of something being broken or fixed?

just got back from 5 days at the world, and had a wonderful time. My boyfriend hadn't been since he was about 10 years old, and he definitely had a magical experience. Everything was clean, everyone was friendly, and we didn't notice any major issues in rides or anything else (aside from the Earth barge during Illuminations, but we attributed that to rain). Honestly, it's really easy to gripe about Disney on the internet when you're picking over every little detail, but once you're there, it's fun and wonderful if you let it be.

I worked at a regional amusement park for 2 summers (actually that's where I met my bf) and we were talking when we were down there about all the ride issues and everything else we had working at our park, and how many MORE issues there would have been if there hadn't been an off-season at the park we worked at.

Just got back from a week at Disney and our trip was just as magical as our honeymoon trip was. There were things being refurbished, but that doesn't bother me, as Disney has to do that to improve things. I also didn't notice anything being unclean. We had a fantastic time.

We only had one problem on our trip, and guest relations handled it really well. It really didn't take away from the "magic" part of it at all. On messageboards, you'll always see a lot of complaints.

Before I went last year, I read this message board for a while. I got very depressed. There is a lot of complaining here. To read this board, out of context, you'd think the whole place was falling apart. I had to delete the bookmark and promise myself to stay away.

Our trip was fantastic, and the place was looking and working great.

NOW--a lot of the comments and complaints here are valid. It's just that they're out of context, and they are about people analyzing things and wishing for things, and talking about small details.

Example--I read a few threads about how the ANGLER FISH in TSWNAF was not working. People were really up in arms about how cruddy it was that it wasn't working. So--I just was prepared for a bad experience. When I went on the attraction, I really enjoyed it, and so did my family. EXCEPT for that moment when I went by the fish, it did nothing, and I said "darn, I really know what I missed.". The thing is, I would have just plain enjoyed the attraction AS IS if I didn't know. Funny, huh?

I am not trying to be a "Defender of Mediocrity". I think the fish SHOULD be working--and that Disney should be keeping its maintenance up, and that new attractions and refurbs should be Plussed as much as possible. In other words, I agree with the comments and criticisms, and am always hoping for the best.

But it is possible to get a bad attitude by reading this stuff out of context, I think. I know it happened to me, even though I now enjoy the boards here and am happy to read and contribute.

My advice is, go, enjoy, and write about what happens to YOU, not what you read about on message boards. Personal experience is way more compelling to any management person that's reading a letter, anyway. "I heard it on the internets tubes" just doesn't have the same credibility, obviously.

That's my 2 cents on message boards and actual trips. We had an awesome time, filled with magic and fun, and have little if anything in the way of complaints about our experience. And still here I am wondering when the Yeti is going to get out of B mode.

You can do both.

we havent hand any issues the last few trips we have taken.

i guess i am a little concerned with the way the economy is affecting wdw. for a place that always allowed me to escape the real world it seems like its having an effect on it finally. and reading about all the closings and other restaurants not serving breakfasts any longer etc its somewhat disturbing. how many more things that we remember are going to disappear and not be replaced?

My thoughts exactly! Why would you criticize Disney over what you've heard? Go, experience....then say what you have to say based on what you've experienced!

I think the couple of comments that were made about just getting back and no complaints should speak volumes for what is going on in and around the parks.

Coming from a background in retail where everyone wants the customers opinion....you tend to get the information a little skewed. If someone has had bad service they will do everything they can to make sure there voice is heard and complain. Not so much for the other side when someone might get great service.

Sometimes you have to take the negative comments with a grain of salt, go experience it yourself and then see if a letter needs to be sent.

I wasn't going to comment on what I have just read, there was a few things out of wack the last time I was there and the forums just happen to agree with some of my findings. But don't get me wrong I had a wonderful wonderful time overall. And I would love to go back tomorrow if I could.

We just came back from a trip, and it was AWESOME. I am definitely not in the mood to complain!

That said, I am one of those die-hards who remembers what Disneyworld used to be like. So maybe I notice things that other people wouldn't notice.

I'm going to use Splash Mountain as an example, but I could use any number of attractions and point out similar little things. We rode Splash a bunch of times and it was great, we thoroughly enjoyed it. But I did notice a few things... there is one scene where Briar Rabbit jumps along behind some bushes. This seems to rarely work and was not working on this day. It's not a big deal (and most people probably didn't notice) but I wonder, "Is it beyond the technological know-how of Disney to keep that rabbit hopping?" If you looked behind the bushes (as I did), you could see Briar Rabbit slumped over like he'd been shot. LOL.

At the beginning of the ride, there was chewing gum spit out all over along the sides of the ride. It looked almost like one person spit out their gum and then other people saw that and figured that's where their chewing gum should go! This isn't exactly Disney's fault but it made me wonder, "When was the last time Disney cleaned up this ride?"

Finally, at the end of the ride, after the big drop, there's a spot where you wait for the boats ahead of you to move forward to the big finale scene. On your right side, there is a small rectangular area with controls inside it that move I guess to control the flow of boats past this holding spot. When the ride was constructed, there was a nice grate covering this rectangle so you didn't see the controls moving. Not long after, the grate came off and was never replaced. It made me think that someone, at some point, said, "Oh, the heck with it... that's good enough." But that would never have been "good enough" back in the day...

None of these things ruined this attraction for me, but when I think back to the perfect condition Disney used to keep their attractions, these little nitpicks make me a little nostalgic I guess...

Ok i give up what or where is "ANGLER FISH in TSWNAF "

As for things not working correctly in the attractions my guess is that only us hard core Disney people notice every little thing. Most people are so amazed and in awe of all that is going on around them they will not even know.
I was at the MK today and rode Pooh. The smoke effect in the Efelump and Woozle (sp?) was not working. Now only my wife and i noticed. Most people would not even notice let alone care. Did it affect my experience???? NO! I was not ready to say Disney is slipping and that its the end as we know it.I am in no way excusing them for it not working but Stuff happens. They may not even know its not working.
Sometimes i think we as a group are very hard on Disney. I know they are held to a much higher standard than six flags,Cedar fair,Bush Gardens etc. But as someone who still goes to many different parks across the country they still are the best value.
My advice is to continue to be hard on them and bring to their attention what is not right but chill out its not the end of the "World" as we know it. Relax and enjoy your vacation. But once your home Send off an e mail and let them know.
