Or to redo a short stretch of side-street on Main Street.
Or an entire central hub of Epcot!..

Those ones are fine, these ones are attached to the front of the trading post and are about to rot apart, when you touch them the wood just flakes off, I keep telling leaders and nothings been done 😑
The didn't use old growth timber so we lament the demise of old growth and embrace modern day rot and decline. Couldn't be a clearer parable.

Although I don't doubt that what is listed is true, I have to wonder what type of obsession is required to spend all that energy and attention on what may or may not be broken instead of just enjoying the ride. The fact is that all of that junk is just there to support a flume ride with a large drop. All that concern over a ride that was announced to be gutted and changed around a year ago. It's like having an old car that needs a lot of repair and spending thousands of dollars to fix everything and then have it hauled off to the dump. What should be expected at this point?

IMO if Disney won't maintain an attraction because they propose to change it at some unspecified future date is pathetic. There was a time when Disney provided the best --guess that is not their business model any more. The new model must be provide the least we can get away with. Shut it down
I think in the past that as soon as it got to the point of needed massive maintenance then they abruptly just closed it. This time there was a pandemic right in the middle of what was planned. The only reason why there are that many repairs needed would be because it wasn't closed when they expected to close it. An no responsible business would spend massive amount of money on something that is going to be scrapped in a few weeks. That would be the sign of poor management. What we got here was a limited expansion of the time it was operating and gave fans more time to see it before it became history. I have been on that ride at least 50 times and not once did I pay specific attention to every single item in the ride. Instead I just enjoyed the music and the ride itself. I think we expect to much from our theme park attractions and don't want to apply reality to the situation.

Funny how two corporations reacted to the pandemic -Universal took it as an opportunity to continue maintenance and construction. Not Disney- halt everything save money and then claim poor maintenance and slow construction on the pandemic

"When it comes to the COVID-19 crisis, the theme park giants have taken opposite approaches to major new attractions for 2020 and beyond: Disney has largely halted construction while Universal continues working on ongoing projects."

I haven’t looked at this, but is it possible Comcast/NBC’s core businesses (and cash flow) were less affected and disrupted during Covid than Disney? Not a lot of people cut the cord during the work from home era. That may explain a bit why they were more emboldened to keep pushing forward.

Epic Universe isn’t opening this year because Universal didn’t continue construction and then proceeded to absolutely decimate Universal Creative. Universal continued construction on one project that was not well positioned to be mothballed.
