Sorry to hear about your gash, that sounds painful. Get well soon :)

That's really cool though that you could even attempt to build a soapbox racer, I wouldn't even know where to begin. Probably just glue some plywood to my car and hope for the best.

Back on to your comment, I think an earlier dinner timer with fastpasses would be adequate. Though, if they can't get them in and have to book them at another character meal, I would at least give them something extra, if I worked at Disney.

The extra hours debacle last year proved there are limits.
Perhaps, but some folks around here(who I won't name) lead me to believe there is always someone willing to pay an exorbitant Disney price for alleged "premium" experiences. People like to feel like special snowflakes, regardless of how many hands they need to let into their pockets to do so.

If this happened to me I would be very ed. Considering you have to have fast passes planned months in advance along with other dining reservations this just seems absolutely terrible. If it was something out of Disney's control that is one thing but just to have it made available for a higher priced upcharge event makes this terrible.

I wouldn't have thought to ask for that. I guess it would have been awesome if she said "yes" to you though!
I think when dealing with issues you're more likely to get something accomplished when you show a little willingness to be flexible. Once a bad thing happens it can't be undone, anger and lashing out won't fix it...but if you're not angry and lashing out someone may be more willing to help. Not saying that the anger wasn't justified, but count to 10 and then deal with it..as you said, you realized she didn't deserve it..but in that moment of experiencing someone else's anger she probably had less motivation to help you. They're human too.

My initial post was to respond to the OP's information and comment that it was "a new low". I merely provided an example of a personal experience to point out that the low was not new.

We have eaten there a fair number of times. I can safely say I have never seen an empty table. This isn't your run of the mill Disney restaurant.

So you're guessing they have wiggle room for at least 30 parties? That's a LOT of wiggle room.
Not in several years. I can't remember entering into an empty dining room. That's crazy, so you have to wait to leave until every person in the restaurant is finished?
I don't know if they did that when I was younger, but feel like I would remember it. It's actually really good to know. I don't want want to be in that scenario.lol

I sense a mountain out of a mole hill situation arising, as usual.

But I must point out - we have a precedent....

Once Reservations get cancelled ANYWHERE, for a "special event", established AFTER the Reservation was made?
This can occur ANYWHERE, at any time.

Note: not an affected party....don't care for CRT. DO care for a Reservation System that can be believed in....

You think they make you sit at your table until every other person is finished their meal?

They operate many other character meals including some with princesses without that style of operation.

The only other "Princess" meal that I am aware of is Akershus, and they operate the same way.

Another similarity between the two is the relatively small size of both venues, especially compared to say, Chef Mickey's. I am wondering if that has something to do with it as well.

1900 park fare is also princess. Again I can't speak for current operation. But when I ate at Akershus back in 2007 they operated like a standard restaurant.

Well, 1900 Park Fare is actually just Cinderella and the supporting characters, so not exactly the same. Not that I have any idea as to why it would matter, but just a common denominator between CRT and Akershus.

They are still all face characters. Which I assume is what makes the difference. Since these characters can't be simply swapped out throughout a dinner.

It has the Disney brand on it. Simple as that. Slap the Disney logo on it and the sky is the limit when it comes to pricing.

The combination of the Chef, a specially prepared menu and wine pairings, combined with the small, iconic venue and the Princesses makes this a unique event. It's not the usual CRT dinner reservation. It's actually more than just "slapping the Disney logo on it." Is it worth $600 to me? No, but then Victoria and Albert's isn't worth it to me either. For someone with the cash to spend, and a taste for gourmet food and wine, it's obviously worth the money.

I just don't understand how this move can be defended. Guests are encouraged to make ADR's at 120days out and then make FP+ reservations 30-60 days prior to their trip.
I think this is another great example of Disney's poor customer service. I feel sorry for the CM's who had to tell guests their reservations were cancelled. They must have been pretty ashamed of Disney.

Have you eaten at CRT? It's handled very differently from a typical restaurant, even a high profile one. It is completely seated, princesses make the rounds, then completely empties before the next cycle. You can't just "squeeze" extra people in.

How could you possibly confuse what this poster said with what you just asked? If you're still confused after re reading, the answer is no. You don't have to wait for everyone else to finish before you leave. This isn't your mother's dining table.

Do you think Universal could get away with that sort of pricing for a similar experience?

That was when I lost it and subjected her to anger that she did not personally deserve.
I've done that a few times myself. I'm always completely embarassed when I finally come down. If possible, I will actually find the person I went nuts on and apologize personally. I've actually done this a few times. In your case, I could see me doing the exact same thing and I would've felt terrible once Krakatoa was done erupting.

I'm pretty certain cancellation of my CRT reservation several weeks before my trip would've caused an eruption. If it was the year I was going there for my daughter's 4th birthday......all bets would've been off.

This is becoming typical of the way they run. You need to plan waaay in advance, but maybe nighttime shows won't be every night...maybe theme parks won't be open late or they will. Now we can add the small, but real possibility, that your dining reservation will overlap with some ridiculous last second event. Customer service just slowly becomes less and less a Disney thing. Of course, they now know there is no need since a large fraction of their fan base will defend any action and actually pay a premium for any crap they throw out. The onus is on the customer. If you're hosed, you need to be flexible. Your problem, get over it. Don't expect anything. That dude over there is paying $50 for the realistic Frontierland Dysentery experience and any normal consumer expectations have gone by the boards.
