WDW Confirms a HUGE Rumor Proof right here...

Without telling you too much (this "know-nothing 14 year old" seventeen year old knows better than to spill information before its due), it is a possibility. Mysterious Island is only being looked upon for replication at one park worldwide. If the budget comes together (and if Everest keeps operating the way it is, the chances will be greatly increased), then we will get it. If the money isn't there, then it won't happen.

I was really debating just letting this post sit ... but I can't. And the crux of my issue is that I know how TWDC and WDI operate. They just don't tell 'kids' (or anyone on the outside, regardless of age) what they're planning ... and not in a hush-hush 'this will be our little secret' kind of deal. Now would I put it past a Disney PR person to use someone like yourself to 'leak' possible ideas to the fan community to gauge feeback? Hell no. I wouldn't put anything past those folks. But Disney is very afraid of bad press and I also can't see them taking a chance if something like that ever came to light.

Just as an aside, for all the anger Burbank supposedly had over Jim Hill's story on the boutique animal park, the people against the project on the inside ate up the fact that not only were Disney's own internal research surveys showing people almost 9-to-1 against the idea but when fans reacted so negatively online it was pretty close to nail in coffin.

So could it be you're being used as a tool here? Sure. But maybe you've just lucked into developing a special friendship or friendships and the folks don't care whether they violate terms of employment by spilling things they shouldn't.

I guess that means that I'll take you at your word that you're just an amazing special kid that a multi-billion secretive media behemoth (same company that demolished a third of its iconic hotel and tennis courts and built eight floors of a new tower in full view of millions of people before ever officially saying they were doing anything at all!) is letting you in on major future plans that haven't been announced to anyone.

FWIW, you don't have/aren't offering any information that hasn't been out there .... some of it for years. I posted about possible DAK expansion plans involving some TDS concepts on another site early last year (2007) after I saw a model where some Imagineers had stuck the volcano from JTTCOTE smack dab on the site of the character meet-greet-and-grope just to get an idea on balance and how things would look with two major peaks/attractions with the Tree of Life in the middle. At the time, it was all blue sky but I know things moved beyond that stage.

Will it happen? Who knows? But judging by Disney's reaction to the economy and it steadfastly refusing to start any new projects despite all the new additions coming to Uni/IOA/SW in the next few years, my gut says nothing gets started in 2009. Hope I'm wrong.

I just for some reason trust and believe that "Kid" a heck of a lot more then I trust or believe anything you say.

He has never disappointed many, if any at all here and what he says always seems to be right...

Happy New Year!

Adam will also receive my support until he proves to be less than trustworthy in his news. With my own personal connections to TWDC , I tend to lean towards the side of some 'kid' that you feel is a mere pawn.

Though all of our eyes/minds/etc are open, guess it will just take you proving something big for the masses to officially fall at your feet?

Hey, believe whatever you choose. I won't be sweating it either way.

I just believe if a rational adult with some knowledge of how major corporations (especially those in media) operates reads these posts with an objective mind, they'd have some understanding as to why I take his information with a lot of salt.

It's also very easy to be right when you put qualifiers in almost everything you say. I'll take my chances and occassionally be wrong but I'll put out what I know, when I know it and when it won't cost any friends their jobs.

But Happy New Year to you as well ... hopefully 2009 will be a better year for all than 2008 was!

If 2009 is the way the last 4 months of 2008 were for me..then it will all be wonderful!:D

Well, again, unless I've missed something I haven't read him actually writing anything newsworthy.

And I don't know your connections to TWDC any more than you know mine, but are you going to tell me it is reasonable to assume that high level Disney officials spill news to a teen-ager who posts on fan sites?

You do realize that sounds a bit ... well ... nuts?

I don't doubt that Adam knows a lot about Disney. I've met some Disney geek kids who have almost memorized 'the parks' ... my point isn't that at all. There's plenty of information out there and he seems like a very intelligent young man who likely soaks up stuff like a sponge when he is interested.

Though all of our eyes/minds/etc are open, guess it will just take you proving something big for the masses to officially fall at your feet?

I can sincerely say after lurking, reading and posting here off and on since last spring that while you may have an open mind and many here do, that most assuredly all do not.

And I am not looking for anyone to fall at my feet (I wouldn't mind if someone rubbed them gently and maybe put some lotion on my soles though!) I'm also not here to prove anything. I'm here to share knowledge and discuss and debate TWDC (the good, bad and the ugly).

Honestly, I see where you're coming from. I really do. Please understand that perhaps Adam has never posted anything you've deemed 'newsworthy' on this 'fan site' because of his connections? Just a thought...?

You're right, neither you nor I know of each other's connections within TWDC. This might even be my first mention of having a 'connection' high up, but only because rocking the boat isn't worth it for me and I truly understand nothing is set in stone until a check is signed/cashed.

I do approach you with an open mind and open eyes (even if merely for comparison sake), though I wish you'd be a little less abrasive with your post style. Here's hoping for good news all around for WDW in 2009! :D

I've done one NYE at MK as a kid, one at EC as a teen, two more at EC as an adult (including the real and fake Millenniums aka 1999 and 2000) and one at DL (2001). Think I've had enough of the crowds, although they were all fun (we had snow flurries at EC in the 1980s, but I was too young to care!)

And you have a great and safe NYE! ... (getting tipsy now in case I wind up designated driver tomorrow!):snore:

That's fine. If that's the case, then he is just being smart.

Of course, if that is the case I don't quite get why he is (for lack of a better term) being placed on a pedastal. When I came to this site I was told there were a few people here with good connections and information like Lee and Martin ... and ... well, they've proven that to be true.

I honestly didn't ever take notice of Adam until maybe a week or two ago. And even then it took me a bit before I figured out he was one of the leaders of the fan Epcot25 celebration deal.

I really am not abrasive. You should feel my skin, it is so soft!:ROFLOL:Really!

There are folks here who would much rather discuss me than what I have to say and sometimes I may be a bit short with them. But I am really not that interesting ... but what I say sometimes is! I am also used to posting on another site where, for the most part, the posters skew older (people who like well ... can at least remember the 1980s if not the 70s ... hell, some can even remember the 50s and 60s!!!)

Anyway, l agree let's hope for better things for WDW in 2009!

Though I cannot truly speak for Adam (nor would I ever try), anyone who was part of C25 -or even watched MatPez's dvd of the festivities- can probably only guess who/where his connection(s) come from at this point. Following suit with Martin and Lee, one could assume he's keeping relatively vague and somewhat quiet due to your exact guess... He's being smart!

You might not feel the need to give him credibility because of that, but you're in the same boat around here, right? Surely you understand about having to earn your WDW insider 'keep' on the internet. The pedistal of which you speak comes with respect, which the 'WDWMagic Legends' have earned.

Also, please don't sell us short here. Many of us can remember the 70s and 80s! ( ) Though you seem to be quite opposed to it, I still think that a bit more tact in your posting style would lead to that respect across the board that you just might rightfully deserve...
