WDW 45th Anniversary

I know the 20th was just as big as the 25th so that wasn't a good comparison to the 45th and the big 50th. Of course we do not know yet what Disney may have in mind. They did hint at the possibility of Celebrating the 45th. Obviously we won't see a new daytime parade since FOF is still new but we could see several other things. Maybe lol.

There is the possibility they may want/need to ease up the demand for Rivers of Light at DAK. Naturally a lot of people are going to flock to DAK this year since it's the only park that has something new to see at night. That could be a nightmare for DAK!
I do get the whole "mostly tourists" thing at WDW rather than locals like DL, but still everyone is going to want to see WDWs latest nighttime show! and only having one new entertainment offering this year could be bad, especially to a newbie nighttime park like DAK!
I have a feeling the SW entertainment and ROL will be shoe horned into celebrating the 45th.

Strangest one out of all the parades....Mickey Mania...

At least the Mickey was catchy and we get to see Mickey Mouse himself during the final float dance.
That one was a little strange. Interesting though.

It does remind me, though, that they were willing to try new things without being on a grand scale.
Minnie looks so weird in that parade look at her hair!

I don't think the 20th was nearly as big as the 25th.

I remember the 25th (the castle-cake year) setting the new standard for global promotion and huge "celebrations" (a/k/a marketing campaigns). They had a theme song, TV specials, commemorative Coca-Cola bottles, McDonalds glasses, and other nation-wide promotional things, not to mention the castle-cake.

I remember thinking that it had really set the standard for a huge promotion, which they then attempted to replicate with the millennium celebration featuring EPCOT (and the infamous wand hand with "2000" over SSE which changed later to "Epcot") and followed by the 100 Years of Magic promotion (with the infamous BAH) -- all global in perspective but not quite as big as the castle-cake 25th (even though, unlike the castle-cake, their over-the top icons both overstayed their welcome and were examples of capital expenditures built in the parks that cost money added no real value like a ride would have -- except perhaps the temporary "Millennium Village" pavilion featuring Israel and other countries for the first time, which I understand now is used as an expo area on occasion).

I wonder what the logo for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World will be? It would had been very wonderful if they decided to bring back the retro WDW logo but with the word 50 added in it.

If they were going to celebrate the 45th in any meaningful way, they would have already started the hype machine.... I would not expect anything until the 50th... and even then I would not expect too much. Disneyland's 50th treatment came in another era when they really went all out to celebrate milestones... I don't think we will see that kind of corporate spending again...We will get a HUGE advertising campaign that will tug at your heart strings, a new fireworks show, and a LOT of merchandise...

and of course they will open the attractions that are already under construction and tout them as their new offerings just for the 50th....

Disney World also got this treatment during it's 25th Anniversary

There won't be a new parade or fireworks for the 45th. They will use Rivers of Light and DAK becoming a full day park and Starwars things at Studios and Frozen and Soarin at Epcot as the 45th anniversary additions

Still is strange the Disney blog posted the 45th as being one of the reasons to visit this year and to stay tuned for more info.. They said the Magic Kingdom specifically not the other parks. They must have something in mind. I had been thinking maybe the new stage show would be a part of it but that starts in the Summer..

Is there a media event or something between now and October where something could be announced?
