Looking forward to seeing it on Friday in IMAX.
Read the book....eh, I liked it alright.
Didn't like it so much that I won't probably like the movie better.

Going to see it this weekend. I'm not sure what to expect, but I do love comic book movies.

"GRAPHIC NOVELS, Joel."
-Crow, on whenever Joel says Comic Books

Some cool street marketing that should be familiar if you've read the book...

Ooooh, where is that?

New York of course!

Tomorrow's the day!

I'd like to thank everyone who's checked out the thread and kept it going for so long, I'd like to think our little thread has contributed a bit of extra buzz for the movie, and even better encouraged people to read the novel!

THE END IS NIGH my friends.

This is FANTASTIC, a fan-made Opening for if Watchmen was an 80's Saturday Morning Cartoon.

Watchmen have been watched.
Much a$$ was kicked.
Thumbs up.
Changes were made, mostly to the end, and didn't bother me at all.

Actually, the only thing that would make me give the film 4.5 instead of 5 stars was...um....a certain part of Dr. Manhattan. Every time it makes an appearance, it tends to draw your eye. Like hypnosis. Distracting.

Saw it this afternoon. Thought it was pretty good.

I think I prefer the re-worked ending, actually...simply because it seems more plausible in the context of the WATCHMEN world than Moore's. Basically, I think people in that world would be more apt to take the threat invented in the movie seriously.

Didn't like the change to how Rorshach dealt with the child killer. It took what was (IMO) an ingeniously nasty little trap and replaced it with straight up violence. Moore's approach was more creative.

Would have liked more time spent with the regular folks (Bernie and Bernie at the newsstand, Seymour and his boss at the New Frontiersman) but I'm sure time constraints played a role there. Hopefully the director's cut will have more of that.

As far as the main characters go, they all seemed to click pretty well...especially liked the actor playing Rorshach when he was missing the mask. Didn't like Doc Manhattan's voice, but I knew that going in. When I read him, I always think of him sounding more like the animated Mr. Freeze.

^from what I understand, Snyder and co. felt that Rorsarch's dealing with the child killer had to be changed for one reason, and I see their point.
The reason.....Saw.

I hadn't heard that, but I was actually wondering while I typed if people would have assumed they were ripping off Saw with the original version. Interesting.

The movie was INCREDIBLE!!!! I loved every minuite of it. :sohappy:

The critics can throw their opinions that non-fans of the book won't enjoy it because I've never touched any of the books and I loved the movie.

DONE.

:)

Loved it. They'll hate him for it, but Zack saved us all from a much worse Watchmen movie that would've inevitably been made. This is the best adaption ever, and just like the book: My mind is blown.
:dazzle: :D

Quick Hits:

-Best Opening Credits EVER

-The actors were challenged, and exceeded high expectations.

-Three words: Architects of Fear.
:sohappy:

-I can't believe this movie was made. It was. And I watched it. And I still can't believe what I saw.

You really should touch the books!
