This event should be required viewing for anybody planning their vacation and thinking of going to Disney. The quality of this event is the same quality we are seeing in the slow steady decline of the Disney Park experience. I thought it was sad.

FLE is just a giant joke...it is a waste of time, in my honest opinion...i was wishing that they would wisen up and use Marvel but nope....

They can't do that, that would be a good idea;) I honestly feel the same way about FLE, the only thing I'm looking forward to is that Gaston beer fountain out front of the restaurant, but knowing Disney it'll get cut from the budget.

Ok, so I'll admit, as a father of a daughter, that TV ad did what it was supposed to do, nearly made me cry at work.

Other than that, what a huge waste of time. Woo-Hoo, here is a glorified slideshow. You know how awesome it is to watch someone else's vacation slidehow? Yeah, that is what you are getting.

How sad

Wow there are allot of angry tweets, and posts and what not, how will disney handle this?? FFrom reading some of the comments on hear I fear nothing. It's nice that they want to make memories important, but they should have never advertised this as huge news. I thought WDW was going to get a new ride or experience. It's disappointing to see the direction disney is going in i really don't understand.

Regardless of what is announced, it will shortly afterward be seen as a:

a. disappointment by the fans
b. not addressing x, y, and z which is more important to the fans
d. pandering to the fans

Really is a win-win for Disney.... :lookaroun

My, my. That glass of yours must be half-empty. :lookaroun

I think if the announcement is revised FLE plans and it's what has been talked about here, you'll see praise. Fixing something before it's too far gone to fix is a good thing.

Beyond that, who knows. I would hope if there's any substance, that it's worthwhile and exciting. But track records on these things are that they're mostly fluff, in which case you may well see backlash.

Guess we'll know in an hour or so.

Well... I'm not too proud to admit when I was wrong. :lookaroun

Exactly. I just don't get the point. You're in Walt Disney World, if you just look around you can see families making memories everywhere you turn. What's the point in projecting it on the castle? I'm not a negative person or a Disney basher at all, but this is the stupidest thing I've heard from them.

While I HATE this idea, I think the idea behind it is that a family having their pictures projected on the castle will create a special memory for THEM. The thousands of strangers in the parks wont care about seeing random strangers on the castle or its a small world. It will just mean ruined photographs of the icons! But those that that have their faces projected on the castle will likely find it very special.

Wow, glad I had to go into a work meeting and didn't waste an hour watching this. Why on earth would Disney hype something like this and do a live stream for it? I just don't get it. It's like they went out of their way to get their consumers excited only to disappoint them.

You DO NOT use a platform like that to solely announce a friggin' marketing campaign. Tie it to some big piece of news and organically roll it into the campaign. Disney knows their fans live for news about new attractions and expansions, so offering anything less than that via a hyped announcement was bound to fail. What a bummer...

I heard that Disney is in talks to buying out the contract with Universal so they could use the characters...otherwise they can still use characters not used at Universal such as Thor, Iron Man, Captain America

Alright, then I say they should use them..you've got a Thor and CA movie coming out next year, but instead they are sitting there thinking "Hey I know, lets plaster family pictures on our loved icons, that will bring them in":brick:

Tom Staggs seems like a genuine, likable guy.

Yes, he does. They should have just let him talk more.

Disney Parks Blog is now back up and running, and everytime it loads the Ustream begins with Tom Bergeron's crotch joke. That needs to be edited out ASAP as it wasn't funny and wasn't in good taste. But most importantly, it wasn't funny.

The funny thing is if there are multiple pictures on the castle at the same time, and you are actually in the park for that show, what are the odds you actually see your family? I would imagine not good.
