Wand Removal Day: 1 - w/pictures

EPCOT Space Ship Earth Wand Removal Day: One, July 9, 2007
I took these pictures this afternoon

It doesn't appear they have done anything else but set up...so far

And I doubt they'll be doing too much during park hours since there is not a lot of room in the walled off area to put all the debris, because they still need to be able to get things in and out of SSE.
Then there is the monorail close by, and not to mention that that things a huge lightning rod during those afternoon FL thunderstorms. I think that web cam will tell the tale of demolition during the nights ahead.

Enjoy!

Here is a link to my album while I prepare to post them in the thread:

They're now posted below in posts #s 5 & 8

Ah what a beautiful sight that wand is. So how long will it take to remove that big golf ball next to it.

WOW, that did not take long. We were there just last week and never saw anything that would say they were going to do that. By the way, does anyone know why there was a crane over in between RRC and HM?

Nice pictures!

I am curious about how high up is the top of the wand?

Are they suppose to change the ride vehicles during rehab?

Sad to see...sad indeed!

If they would remove the Leave A Legacy tombstones and put the planters, trees and grass back, I'd be alot happier about this whole thing.

I would love to see Leave a Legacy go, or at least condense the number of stones to only ones with pictures.
