Wand coming down in the fall?

A very knowledgeable source on LaughingPlace.com has made the statement that the Wand will be coming down this fall. This person has been proven correct in the past, so I see no reason to doubt what he has to say. Now I am sick of Wand threads myself, however I felt this was important enough to post. Maybe some of the people with inside knowledge here can confirm or deny this news. By the way I am man enough to stand up to the bashing I know I will receive for posting this. So have at it, and let everyone know your thoughts.

It is always a reliable source that states the wand is coming down.

Eventually someone is going to be correct since a "reliable source" has said the wand is coming down every other month since March of 2000...

I think it has been a full week or 2 since a reliable source has said the wand is coming down though. I was starting to go through wand thread withdrawls...

I read that too. While nothing 100% has been said on the Wand and stars coming down...this is not the only person I know of to have said of the agreement Seimens had with Disney with discussing the wand and stars.

They said the only way the wand would stay up is if it said "Seimens"...and of course Disney would not allow it, and thus Disney and Seimens are working out on finances to pay off the wand and star's removal.

This would have been what had happened with Disney and AT&T, but with AT&T only sponsoring spaceship earth from 1984-2004...and not renewing their contract...in 2000 they did not agree on financing....or so has sometimes been said...to negotiate the wand and stars removal...so instead Disney rather than spending a ton of money to take down a structure that was expensive to build..spent less money and simply changed 2000 to "Epcot".

With leave a legacy ending....and the possible or eventual removal and redesign of the toombstones to a different area of Epcot or WDW...I see no reason why the wand won't come down by 2008.

Various people....even credible ones have said there has been talk in Disney, and in Seimens about the wand coming down.

So even though nothing is deff right now...I believe the wand will be coming down by the time Spaceship Earth's area is completeted in January 2008. :wave:

It's coming down alright, only to be placed in the middle of World Showcase Lagoon.

In all seriousness, it is actually being removed very soon.

Hopefully this comes true, however, I'm not going to get my hopes up until I see a crane at the sight pulling the wretched thing down.

I will say it just one more time. I am sick of Wand threads myself, however this person has proven to be very creditable. I would not have subjected myself to the post that would come out bashing me for starting another Wand thread if I did not truly believe that this is no longer speculation. I happen to really like the Wand, I will hate to see it go, that doesn't change the fact that this announcement will effect a lot of people on this forum in both positive, and negative ways. I was only trying to get other people with knowledge of what is going on now, to step in on this, and either confirm or deny. I also know what has been said in the past. Yes I know the Wand will come down eventually, however this person states it will be down for 2008. If this is proven wrong I will be more that happy to come back and apologize for starting another stupid Wand thread. I also hope some of you out there will come back, and apologize for kicking people when they have a legitimate post.

It's all good!

Actually, I heard other rumors to the same effect.

I really don't think anyone was really doing any bashing, more like good natured fun. (at least from me:wave: )

My statement was not directed at anyone that has posted so far. It's meant for the ones we know have come in the past on threads like this. I didn't mean I have been offended by anybodys comment. Actually Wand threads are both laughable, and annoying. There has always been a lot of speculation on when the Wand was coming down, I just never thought I would start a thread on it.
Like I said I will stand up to a public flogging if this does not happen. The person making this statement has way to much creditabiliy to start a rumor. He has a working knowledge of the inside of Disney that is hard to match.

CBOMB, I believe you. I bet they'll take it down before Epcot's 25th. (Hey I can hope)

I really, really, really hope that this is true. This is a very important first step to re-focus EPCOT to it's true and important roots.:animwink:
