I would rather have someone or a representative on their end explain to me personally or through phone the ins and outs of the reservation process than reading it myself which I admit I'm so confused myself. Universal didn't seem as complex as this though I know this is a way bigger monster to deal with and Disney vacationers have super duper ultra high expectations to begin with.

Walt Disney world “cast”...by and large doesn’t understand what’s going on is my guess.

That’s not to insult them...just saying they are never told more than the bare minimum. And it’s been that way for decades.

So getting someone on the phone is far from a guarantee of production.

A lot of people are wondering about the new park reservation system going live and it got me thinking...I wonder if Disney will soon announce AP holder previews and have AP holders use the new system to make park reservations so that the system can be tested before making it live for the July openings? Of course it's just a thought.
They stated last week (can't remember if it was an email or some other method) that they would be doing exactly that.

Don't forget we are having to pay points fees when we cannot use the points. No refunds contemplated. They say they MAY reduce fees next year but that will never happen.
This is the official word from DVC:

While lower operating costs are anticipated for each condominium association because of the closures, there are many unknowns ahead as the Resorts are returned to operation. Our commitment to Guest and Cast safety remains our top priority, and changes may be implemented to the way we operate, which may add some new costs. Given the unique circumstances of this situation, a credit will be issued to Members in mid-December as part of the distribution of Annual Dues Statements for 2021, if their association has an operating surplus (as opposed to rolling all surpluses into reserves).

So no guarantee. We'll just have to wait and see what happens in December.

and others said that long before. masks, social distancing, and lockdowns are unnecessary.

I don't think masks are important when outside. I'm a ninja warrior at avoiding people walking around outside even when it's busy. I will be upset if they get rid of the mask rule and distancing during ride line queues though. There is still the chance of symptomatic spread in these enclosed areas. Someone with covid could pass the fever check and still be coughing and snargling. If they plan on committing to this elaborate safety plan for only a few months, count me out. Not to mention how flaky it will look for safety to become a fad that they lose interest in over a short period.

I wonder if Disney is watching closely how dead Universal is.
It could be that Universal's crowds are low because Disney isn't open. I wonder how many people come to Orlando just to go to Universal. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney overall was a bigger draw and that a significant number of people use a single trip to go to both Disney and Universal (and Seaworld).

Of course, there's people that are not going to go because they're concerned or because they don't like the restrictions, but I'm wondering how much the above is impacting as well.

Given that Disney is (currently) only opening (most) of the DVC resorts, it looks like they're expecting low attendance initially as well.
