Can they allow hotel guests to use that pool? I thought because it’s paid for by DVC maintenance fees it’s not available to hotel cash guests.
The BCV pool has never been restricted to only DVC guests. Regardless the hotel side of the Beach Club won’t be open during this phase anyway. The initial phase will only be the BCV building, guests staying there on points or cash would be entitled to use the pool.

The pool at Bay Lake Tower is restricted to Bay Lake Tower guests. However you don’t have to be a DVC member. Non DVC members who pay cash for Bay Lake Tower accommodations are still able to use the BLT pool.

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin extends its closure to the end of July

Curious if there's any coordination there with Disneys plans for resorts opening? With them walking back the comment to make sure the resorts announcement only specifically referenced DVC, wonder if they would consider DVC only until late July to help with park capacity. Give a few weeks to build out after parks open bringing cash rooms online.

If I was at liberty to say I would have done already. But I’m afraid I’m not.

Not true. The Bay Lake Tower pool is exclusive to guests staying there. If you are staying at CR you aren’t eligible to use it. I know that for sure. I was asking about BCV because I wasn’t sure if that was the case there too. It’s not consistent between resorts.

I've seen Disney language that the Boulder Ridge pool is for BR and CCV guests only. I don't remember where, but it was during my stay at CCV in May 2019. I'm not sure about enforcement. It could be tied to Magic Band, and I suppose it could be selectively enforced based on pool occupancy. I wouldn't be surprised if going forward it was kept exclusive to DVC guests due to capacity issues around social distancing.

By phase do you mean June 22 to July 11 or do you mean after July 11 when the parks open?

I do wonder if at least BC/YC and Boardwalk remain closed through July too. The DVC rooms will be open, but that cuts down dramatically the need for transport. They could keep the boats for those resorts shut down and just offer buses for DVC members.

Well, they've already said AP holders can elect to get a refund of their pass if they want.
Didn’t they offer refunds for annual pass holders? I think the only people on the hook are DVC owners. You can delay a certain amount of time depending on your use year but you cannot cancel without losing points.

No, Disney has not issued any AP refunds yet, and they are claiming the "partial refund" will only be for the months they are closed March 16 -July 11, which calculates to be up to 25% max of what you paid, which is a total rip off. Disney is not telling anyone what the amount will be, nor will they start the refund process. It could change. (FWIW I want more like a 75% refund or new vouchers I can use when things open back up)

DVC owners have way more options. They can use the points next year, rent out any expiring points, or sell the DVC. AP holders cannot rent or sell their pass.

Sounds like fun...no SAB, no yachtmans, no cape May...

They better put some extra/temp bars in🍸

Now that my reservation for July at the Dolphin was cancelled this will be the first time in 10yrs that I’ve visited Orlando and not stepped foot on property at a resort or a park.

I was able to snag a 2 bedroom, 2 bath villa at the Sheraton Vistana resort for an incredible rate. Hopefully UO delivers since that’s where we’ll be going for the first time.

They have made no official announcements regarding resort openings beyond the June 22 initial phase. As of now, even once the parks open on July 11 the only officially confirmed resorts open are those already announced to open on June 22.

DVC point system is damn near wrecked.

DVC model assumes 97% points used In year and the bank and borrow offset. Each “point” is maxed out in the upfront sales too...

Now close for 3+ months and figure out how long it takes to work the kinks out of millions of points...or whatever number it is? It’s not small.

I wish you luck.

Potterlands are fantastic. Better than any Disney mini land. Even if you aren’t a huge fan...it draws you in.

We did a preliminary reservation there in case our Disney Cruise in October falls flat... We haven't been there since 1992...my first visit to WDW. Could be fun

You don't have to. ;)
But that’s the interesting issue here as we move toward “re-opening”...

I’m guessing there a lot of smoke and mirror numbers being floated internally - as in upper management doesn’t hesitate to hide agendas from “upper middle” management. You’d be surprised. They aren’t singing high school musical songs together.
They really don’t like being locked down to any “hard numbers” in normal conditions...
