And they're making it worse by closing Jambo (can't figure how they think that's okay). Opening up points at Riviera would help too, though at least those points still belong to Disney so they can choose. It's not points related, but keeping Stormalong Bay closed is crap.
Don't forget we are having to pay points fees when we cannot use the points. No refunds contemplated. They say they MAY reduce fees next year but that will never happen.

They said when they closed that APs would be extended by the number of days the parks were closed so why won't they give an actual date to which your pass is extended? If you want to reschedule I would imagine people would still like to go within the window for their pass so why not let CMs state a definite date? With the combination of AP and DVC use year you really need to know exact dates or you will either lose points or have to but another AP. I am surprised at the lack of information - that Disney has not yet figured any of these things out during the closure. As a Florida resident I would have bought a Silver Pass instead of this Gold Pass had I not wanted to visit during the summer. However it is really DVC members who are being charged for DVC fees while not able to use the resorts that are losing out. Disney say we MAY get reduced fees next year but in more than 20 years the DVC fees have never gone down. At least APs have the option of being refunded.

It's pretty self-explanatory at this point that all passes will be extended for approximately four months (March - June) if your AP expires after the closure period (July 11 or later), if you choose "Option #2". Option #1 (default) is to reimburse you for the months that your pass was active during the closure period. In my case, with an expiration date of October, I was reimbursed for March and would have been reimbursed for April - June with payments to restart in July and still expire in October. But because I have a reservation I managed to slip in starting October 18, I opted for Option 2 to extend. So my payments will resume in July but I continue paying for the four months after October (November - February).

Well, if they follow the Shanghai model, they dont know how long they’ll be extended for because they don’t know how long they’ll operate under restrictions.

At a minimum we know the parks reopen on 11 July, so it’s a simple matter to figure out the expiration date would be based on that alone.

Then, if they continue to extend, bonus!

I can't see how they don't. They had no expenses for 3 months beyond property taxes and security guards.
Added costs for social distancing and excess cleaning now? More staff at the pools and in common areas to enforce rules, extra cleaning crews and additional supplies? Just thinking how they may jack the costs up. Also, if a place like BCV is open but not the hotels will They get hit for all of the transport cost that’s now shared with the hotel? Same with security or front desk?

This is only the case for Florida residents who pay monthly, though. Those that paid in full or are out of state automatically get "Option 2." And it's not a reimburse, more so that they're just not charging you while the parks are closed (with March being the exception because they did end up billing).

I don't think they were, but what's surprising me is that it doesn't seem like they truly had a contingency in place in case they could open when they announced they would.

Honestly, having this information come out in little dribs and drabs tells me, in a way, that they may not have had a complete plan in place, which isn't really what I'd have expected from them.
They should have known what they are going to do with their hotel guests when they decided to open. Their reservation systems been down for how many days now?

Agree. Option #2 is not a reimburse. To switch from Option #1 to Option #2, I agreed to reverse the March reimbursement in order to extend for four months.

Hey...on an unrelated note: I saw DVC resale ad today that had some prices good (dak for $99, beach club for $122) and some insane (poly for $188)

All over the place. 🤭

And not to be a Disney defender, but how many AP holders (especially out of staters) will be getting refunds for months they weren't going to be in the parks anyway.
Not sure what you mean. AP pay the same flat rate for their annual pass. They pay the same as someone who potentially could have gone to the parks every single day of the year.

I would assume the park and dining reservations may both be at 60 days. I think they already said at some point that when ADRs open back up the system won’t allow you to book an ADR for a restaurant in park you don’t have a reservation for.
Just seems like if they didn’t want to totally overload the system they could space the park reservation a little earlier. That would also allow you to finalize your ADR list in advance. Guess we’ll see

Not counting on DVC to lower annual dues here, even if maintenance costs decreased, they might come up with something like "having to deeply disinfect units, common areas, modify amenities, etc." Like I said, it'd be nice if they did, but I'm not holding my breath about it. We'll see how this goes.

That is a defense of disney

Aps work this way: you pay for “access” for X number of days. Not gateclicks.

Could be 10 or 200.

What’s in it for them? Every thing you buy, eat, drink, PorP out...higher profit and that’s what the parks are their for...

Same price that allows more frequent visits or more hotels and tickets to shove others in when you’re not there.
I don’t get your stance really at all.

No
imagine families with $5000 in AP's - no refund?
This is us. Four APs yet to be activated and a two week stay booked July 20 - Aug 3. We had hoped to visit the next two summers before our kids graduate HS and go to college. I just hope we know the details of what will should expect other than the rumors and speculation we all read each day. So much to decide on since we are really stuck because of these APs and life.
