IMHO is the October hours will be longer at the parks. The restrictions that the North eastern states have set will be lifted by then as well. There will be collegiate/NFL sports events happening in front of 10's of thousands of fans by then, that will help peple realize that travel is fine and encourage more trips. There are already multiple sports events happening in front of fans. Travel has steadily increased over the past few months and will continue as all indicators are dropping like ER CLI admission, hospitalizations etc. Florida Covid hospitalizations are close to 50% less than they were at the peak just over a month ago. Plus now the news of Florida and Covid is dropping off quite a bit

Well, this post won't age well...

Fans in the stands for college football? That’s a complete train wreck. Same for the NFL. That’s the kind of stuff that blows up and makes it hard for a company like Disney who is trying to do things the right way. Not every activity is equal. Some stuff just won’t be possible.

It is going to happen and has happened with no issues. NASCAR races have had 20,000 fans in the stands with no cases or super spreader events etc. Iowa state baseball tournament had 29,000 fans attended the event. MLS had 3-5000 fans in the stands last week.

Orlando MLS is looking to allow up to 7500 fans next week in Orlando

check this out, even crazier, in Wuhan, China where it all began, pool party concert last weekend

Let’s hope not. People going wild and doing stuff that‘s guaranteed to not go well is exactly the opposite of what WDW needs. So if all this happens and WDW is still down to bare bone hours come the holiday season will people finally realize that the best thing for the economy is to do things in moderation and with proper protocols in place?

Where is it guaranteed not to go well?

NASCAR , MLS, other sporting events have one thing in common compared to WDW crowds. The sporting events have more beer drinkers in the crowd and will be drinking with their masks down. The more drunk they become the more they will less follow rules.

It’s common sense. Colleges have been back for a week and on multiple campuses there are outbreaks due to parties. How is packing thousands of people into a football stadium including tailgates going to go well with no issues?

you are talking about college parties. thousands of people go to the parks everyday with no issues.

I was responding to your quote that college football and the NFL are going to have fans in the stands. That’s completely different than WDW. Who do you think goes to college football games? The same kids at those parties.

Yes but the games have the same requirements as the parks, masks at least six feet etc etc. and at the same levels 20% or so. College kids also go to the parks. It is not completely different, maybe a bit since people at games do not move around and expose themselves to thousands more like they do in the parks and ride multiple rides with different sets of people all day long. Nor do people stay at the games as long as they do in the parks.

I haven’t been to WDW since the parks re-opened but do thousands of people party in the parking lot for hours before they enter the parks? It’s a huge party.

Ah yes, "no known links between nascar and covid" only spikes in the county exactly two weeks after the race. 🤪

Also, you're purposefully misrepresenting Iowa.

Due to virus concerns, ticket sales for each game were capped around 1,800, according to a press release distributed by the IHSAA. Capacity at Principal Park is 11,500.

So running at ~15% capacity is back to normal now. Guess WDW is back to normal too.

But Disney is pretty serious about mask wearing. The primary activity at college parties is drinking. Hard to drink with a mask on. And probably hard to convince a college kid to put the mask back on once he's drunk.
not talking about private parties. Plus they do fine at Disney Springs at convincing drunk younger people to wear masks.
