This thread has more branches than AK's Tree of Life.
It’s really amazing how good some are at seeing the thread title.. and working around it by putting one sentence in their post to say, see, I am not out of line with the thread title, all the while throwing in the same stuff from months ago that I guess someday they hope will be correct.

Sounds like some execs style of leading that I used to report to.

So, has there been an outbreak tied to flying?

MIT seems to say the HEPA filters in airplanes work great. Pro tip.... THEY DO.

ANd you know the media would be all over an outbreak from flying.

So, I'll spell it out to you one time, there is no SCIENCE behind thinking flying is dangerous. The media could easily tout this science that shows it is SAFE. Of course they don't, because it doesn't fit the narrative.

Looks like the media is slowly starting to come around, they have picked up on this study and others. The more these stories pop up, the crowds will continue to grow with out of state travelers and hours will be extended, I imagine staffing will be a challenge still though.

Also those odds are comparable to getting a case in two hours on the ground.

I for one continue to check back here for any news about hours changing, my deadline for deciding about my October trip I made for myself is Labor Day, 2 weeks from Monday. While Covid numbers are going down, I’m still not going unless hours get extended and some night shows return (hopping would be nice too but not a requirement.) I put my chance of that not happening and canceling my trip at 98%.

The problem is it's more than just airline travel for out of state visitors. Visiting Disney World for many includes airline travel, staying at a hotel, eating out for every meal, visiting theme parks with lots of other guests, and more. The combination of risks and chances for exposure need to be viewed collectively, which is what is keeping many away. That 1 in 4,300 for airline travel may be an improvement, but it's still just a cog in the wheel that still presents too much risk for many travelers.

True, risk is everywhere. But the risk of air travel in regards to Covid is the same if not lower than doing all of the above, or just not traveling and doing staycations etc. For many they believe the opposite, air travel is high risk etc., when it is not true. Now that we know much more about the virus, it is good to see media starting to put out factual information to clear up the misconceptions.

The media is putting out factual information? Where is this so I can tune in....

Getting back to the topic at hand (again there is another thread for COVID discussion), there is one silver lining to early park closures: you could dine at resort or DS restaurants you always wanted to try but the lure of staying in the parks in the evening kept you from doing it. My 60 days just opened up today. I made an ADR at Kona after MK closes, Sanaa after AK closes, and on my second day at HS, my plans are to spend the evening in DS where I have an ADR for The Edison.

Smart planning. One of the only complaints I have read about the re-open parks is some people were saying it’s difficult to find an open table at their resorts for a table service meal without an ADR. People were assuming since the crowds are so limited that dining wouldn‘t be an issue but like you said, more people eating at the resorts and also limited restaurant capacity. Good idea to book ahead. I really like Kona Cafe. It usually plays second fiddle to OHana but I prefer it. Never been to the Edison but it looks cool.

Looks like meals served on skewers and buffets are closed right now. My first choice would be 'Ohana. As for DS, so many choices, and I've never been to The Edison. A good mix of everything.

Another complication is transportation. If you're at a resort for dinner, you may not have any Disney transportation options for getting back to your resort, as the parks nearby may be long since closed. Also, there are no buses from the parks to Disney Springs right now. You have to go from a park to a resort to Springs.

More than likely I'll be driving every day. I'm an AP holder, so parking at parks is free.

No , not now, and definitely not in a month. Cities in Florida are already beginning to somewhat relax the mask rules
They need to stick with our plan;)
Everyone keep doing what they are doing, masks, physical distancing etc. it will get better.
Even if other places relax some rules I don’t see Disney following. They have gotten nothing but positive PR from their safety during re-opening so far and kudos for being proactive in enforcing rules. I don’t see that changing any time soon.

Yes sure everyone needs to keep wearing the mask as needed, and you are correct Disney will not relax anytime soon. I do like the movement as things improvement to no longer mandate but recommend.
