I’m not going to be surprised if this leads to a vote of no confidence against Elon Musk.
Musk owns something like 13% of Tesla so while the board could boot him, he owns enough stock to be a problem for the board/next CEO. Combine that with the fact he is a vindictive and petty brat and they may just let him have his way unless it severely depresses sales.

Looks like Elon decided to get petty.

So a company whose theme parks attract over 100 million globally each year, vs an automaker that's sold about 5 million cars in its existence: who will win?

Ask yourself this, if Disney has a problem with the person, why did they not axe that co-branding?

Musk is not hurting. As of end of 2022 Bloomberg reported the net worth of Musk was $240 billion.

If Disney's issue was truly what Musk said, then why did they not also pull their services from Teslas? Honestly it's a valid question, and really lends credence to the idea their return on investment with Twitter was just very minimal.

Ah. That's not cobranding. Examples of cobranding are Doritos Locos Tacos (Fritolay/Doritos + Taco Bell), Yeezy Shoes (Ye + Adidas), or the Ford Harley-Davidson F150 (Ford + Harley-Davidson). This is just putting an app into an app store.

Anyway, from a business and technical perspective, I could see Disney not caring. Why? Since Tesla's OS is based off Linux, same as Android, I'd argue that it the costs to port Disney+ to work in a Tesla and then get it into Tesla's app store were minimal

And finally, I'd argue there are proportionally far more Tesla drivers who are Disney fans than X users.

He still hasn't been doing great of late.

He has already lost billions on X looking at recent evaluations with more on the line as a private owner. Tesla is down compared to last year and had to cut prices multiple times this year alone to try and meet sales goals. SpaceX has had one maybe two profitable quarters in it's existence so is still mostly a money pit.

Credit where it is due, the man took some big swings that paid off but that ego may be his downfall.

Per the article you cited, there is an update (emphasis added):
Update: Disney+ icon was removed from the Theater screen for owners who haven’t accessed it. Disney+ is still available, just not in the normal Theater area where it once appeared.

Big ego, billionaire status , salesman/conman, and influential to convince some to drink the Kool Aid.That's par for the course of a number of people who rise up and flaunt their power in their roles. Musk is not the only player in this game. The term - Nice guys finish last ever rings so true. One aspect of these influential folks is they can reinvent themselves on a continual basis.

Downfall? I don't think he'll be sleeping on the street anytime soon. Maybe he'll only be the 8th wealthiest person on earth.

When SpaceX spins off Starlink into an IPO, he'll make back whatever he loses on Twitter. Tesla also isn't going to crash anytime soon.

You need a huge ego to accomplish big thins. It might be a bit off putting but anybody who has had enormous success will be found to have a big ego.

Indeed. I never claimed anything to the contrary. Just wanted to share since the update changes the takeaway of the story.
Yep. So Elon or one of his underlings decided to make Disney Plus access just a wee bit more annoying.
