It’s all funny to me. The politicians hate him. Yet at the same time depend on him and his company for getting us to space and broadband to the masses. And also have the most popular electric car company that pushes their green agenda forward. To have someone politically opposite that has power over you like that is driving them nuts. 😂

That is why whether you love him or hate him, he is a true disruptor.

He figured out how to be liked or have a market for everyone(never by all) enough to profit on all sides and give all sides something they want.

There’s a difference between giving them money by buying ads vs. just using the site.
Anti-semitism on Tik Tok is really bad. There is just as much a chance of Disney's Tik Tok adds appearing next to hateful material on Tik Tok as there is on "X" Twitter. Actually,...yes, I'd say that Tik Tok is FAR worse than "X" overall in terms of being a horrible advertising platform for Disney's PR.

But again,...if Disney boycotted Tik Tok adds....the Chinese Communist Party would be VERY angry with Disney.

It seems to me that Disney will absolutely sweep ALL of it's virtue messaging under the carpet to please the Chinese Communist Party? Disney has been doing this HEAVILY for the past 5-8 years now?

The CCP will always get a pass from Disney and they will always 100% look the other way???? (please,..nobody say this is not true)

Yeah! Because the billionaire defense contractors the government has worked with for decades have always been real lefties! They’ve always agreed on tax rates and social spending…

Oh, that’s not what you’re talking about?

Oh yeah - the other stuff! Promoting and amplifying hateful conspiracy theories, antisemitism, and all sorts of other bigotry sure does own all those “elitists!” 😂

The last several years sure have ripped away some masks.

Every company that does business with China so we can enjoy products and services as benefits is reality. Disney doing business with China is one of many companies.

Is there some reason people don't seem to be able to distinguish or recognize the significance between the owner and a random user?

In this case, it was the OWNER that was promoting those kinds of comments. Had Musk not weighed in and gave us another great glimpse into who he is (remember the time he called one of the divers trying to save trapped children a "pedo guy"), some may not have dumped X.

Personally, I don't think it would have mattered as companies have been abandoning that sinking ship for a while. X was a borderline waste of money for advertising even at its best.

Finally, people say dumb, mean, and hateful things all day long on every social platform in existence so to meet the ridiculous standard you are suggesting, no company can ever advertise online.

But his antics aren’t making Twitter profit. They’re tanking its value. He hasn’t disrupted Twitter. He’s just made it worse.

You don’t have to be a conspiracy-theorist anti-Semitic troll to be disruptor

Of course not. Who said they were mutually exclusive? What you quoted was in regards to the idea political charged thoughts are not as jarring as something from an entertainment company.

Anti Semitism is and implicit hatred is nasty.

This is not the first shocking thing that has gotten Elon attention. It is unfortunately on brand.

A disruptor changes an industry through innovation. Nothing he’s done at Twitter has been innovative. Buying a company and wrecking it isn’t disruption. It’s hubris.
Yeah, he is not very good at it all the time. No one said he is always delivering. His personal Brand is a disruptor. Does not mean he always fulfills the promise.

Pretty sure I already addressed this.

The owner of X spreading anti-Semitic content is not the same as individual users doing so. The end. There is no valid whataboutism here.

While were on the topic, it goes deeper still - Musk is altering Twitter to promote, amplify, and pay the worst of the worst while censoring criticism of his actions. The rot is deep and fundamental.

And that's true even though I have very severe misgivings about Disney's activities in China.

Whether he is successful or not is TBD in the future but his goal with Twitter X (outside of the "free speech platform" stuff) is to create his "everything app." He wanted Twitter's user base for that. If his vision for that works, Twitter/X will end up much more valuable than what he paid for it and advertising will not be a necessary revenue source.

His vision could also epically fail and the banks that loaned him the money to buy Twitter could end up losing a lot. We'll know in a few years.

Someone who disrupts by making an amazing product is welcome, someone who disrupts through controversy is not.

I don't think there is any chance of X becoming an everything app. For that to work, there has to be a massive amount of consumer trust in the platform, which simply is not there with X. I wouldn't trust X for a direct message, never mind banking or anything involving money.
