Some small new info
OC Register's Around Disney Blog has some info and a small clip of Bob Weiss talking about the attraction, mentioning that it will have some of the most advanced AA's and Ursula will stand at 8 feet tall.

That's a great little video! The OC Register's "Around Disney" blog is really getting quite good at providing nifty nuggets like that.

I loved Bob Weiss's reference to "E TICKET" when describing Little Mermaid!

With Spring around the corner, the new trees in Paradise Park are starting to cover up some of the construction work.

The Mermaid walls got pushed back in, finishing up the northern half of the parade route. Its still the "hall of walls" but at least its not such a tight squeeze has it has been since Sept/Oct. I wonder when the parade can travel down this section again.

Today Jim Hill has an article on DCA's TLM ride, he's reporting that construction is on schedule and vertical construction will be starting within the next few weeks -

Long story short: This means that the horizontal portion of construction is nearly complete. Which means that -- in the coming weeks -- crews will begin hauling pieces of structural steel into this worksite so that vertical construction can finally get underway.

And given that the folks at Garner Holt are already hard at work on all the AA figures which will be on display inside of "The Little Mermaid" Ariel's Undersea Adventure" ... Well, that means -- in spite of this year's extremely damp winter -- construction of this new DCA dark ride is still right on schedule. And barring any further delays, California Adventure visitors should be able to go "Under the Sea" with Ariel, Flounder and Sebastien starting in the Spring of 2011.

Thanks again for all the pics and that link sponono88!

But reading that Jim Hill "article", why do I get the easy impression that Jim had a buddy take some pictures over the wall last week and then he just sort of extrapolated basic common sense construction practices and restated the obvious from past DisCo press releases to string together some sort of article?

Call me selfish, but I want specific dates, hard information, and juicy new rumors from inside sources!

hah yeah, and also - the concept art he posted is a bit outdated. That's a very early picture of what the facade will look like and the plans have changed since then :)

Ask and ye shall receive! I just read the Al Lutz update from today on Miceage, and it had all the dates, timelines, nitty gritty and such about Paradise Pier construction for the next six months. Big crane arrives on Friday and structural steel at Little Mermaid next week!

Thank you Mr. Lutz, and thank you Al Gore for inventing the Internets for us!

:D

and, according to his article, the Blue Sky Cellar will be updated this summer with focus on TLM. Hoping we see a model of the building + more concept art!
