Walls down at the Castle Walls

I'm still hoping they'll do something to that area. It looks horrible the way it is right now.
A fountain and/or some planters with flowers and small plants would do wonders to the courtyard

Never wish for planters. Only bad things happen when you get planters.

The wide open space will allow for "streetmosphere" entertainment to be held without causing congestion issues in the narrower corridors of Fantasyland.

I don't see what's to really "dislike" about them:

- they do fit the theme of the area
- they don't look "cheap"
- they are not a blantant product tie-in, or attempt to make money (nor can they really by design)
- they do not cause guest traffic to be dramatically affected
- they're not some awful attempt to be "hip" or "cool"
- they have nothing to do with Stitch or Pixar

The should be safe from complaints, but we'll see.

Not sure if the picture is playing tricks on me but in one of them the amount of empty space inside the castle walls in the general area where Dumbo used to be seems quite large. I am hoping this doesn't become a parking lot for strollers, out in the open like that.

I believe they are going to "move" the Tea Cups to this area eventually, perhaps going with the "see-through" glass ceiling like in Disneyland Paris.

I never really liked where the Tea Cups were, and they'll look great next to the castle wall.

I figure it will give them room to "play" with Autopia, (upgrade, electrica, extended/detailed new track), if they so choose.

Wow... taking just those walls down opened up that feeling of that entire area. Seeing some of those shots really gives you an idea of what things will be like when the walls come down. Unfortunately we have a long time to wait for them all to be gone (because the mine train has a long way to go) but what an improvement already!!

I don't know that I'd go that far. It's a wall. A nice wall, but a wall. The competition is building much more than walls...I'll reserve judgment until actual attractions open.

I am also basing the statement on Carsland, BVS, what we are seeing for China etc. This is of that quality.

While I like that idea, there's not nearly enough room there.

The walls entrance sits on top of the old dumbo, and the tea cups are bigger than dumbo in the first place.

I would agree... especially once the foliage etc. is added around the Mine Train, I don't think there will be nearly enough room.

Actually no . . . if you Google Map Magic Kingdom, you'll see an old photo showing the old Dumbo spinner, and relatively size to the Tea Cups. These attractions are comparable in size (be sure to remember Dumbo's queue), there will be plenty of room for a big walk-way, even tree covered, around the Tea Cups when it is moved into its new location. A lot of room actually as you'll be able to easily walk around the whole attraction.

I kept thinking there was something missing in those pictures but couldn't quite put my finger on it at first. It took me a while to figure it out - there is no mob of strollers in any of these photos!

Detail work is amazing. If they put that much effort into walls, the rest of FLE should be astonishing.

Actually, the Tea Cups are going in that big open area between the Carousel and the wall (Mine Train is on the other side of the wall). . . it is perfect sized. Makes sense, families with small kids can park their strollers along the wall, around these attractions and enjoy both without having to move the stroller down to where Tea Cups is currently located.

The photo ops will be great Carousel and Tea Cups and the castle, and even the castle walls!

And as they will put in planters and trees around Tea Cups . . . plenty of shade in a high traffic area.

I must've missed where they announced this. I don't mean that as a smartass comment either... there've been so many things announced I have a hard time keeping up. That said though, aren't those the teacups all the way to the right in this picture? Isn't that the same place they are today?

Will they be putting anything within the arches inside the walls. It would be nice to have a mosaic like whats inside the castle. I think that would be a great detail to what is already amazing. It'd be great if so but I think if there were going to they would've done that while the walls were still up giving them uninterrupted access to them (unfortunately).
