Anyone heard about the new Wall-E "living character" (well, not quite, more along the lines of Push) debuting this summer at DHS? I haven't seen any threads about this, but...it's coming.

Can it please stay there though December so that I can see it?!!?!?

I missed Lucky and the Muppet Mobile Labs. Both of them looked too cute to miss too, darn it. I would really like to see Wall-E!

oh well merf you know what they say.....put alot of money into a temporary thing that will be really popular for less than 5 years, only to scrap it or sell it to mousesurplus and then replace it with putting more money into another temporary thing.

....rather than come up with a new and creative idea made strictly for the theme parks that can last for over a decade and only needs minor tweaking every so often. :zipit:

This is confirmed?? I hope it is b/c I am really excited about Wall-E!!!

I can't confirm it with first hand knowledge, but I have pretty reliable word.

I really like Wall-E, but I think the Living Characters initiative is a complete waste of time and money.

Foo.

I haven't seen this myself, but it was called a cross between push and living characters. Maybe the costs of this weren't as great?

I'm thinking something along the lines of Mater and Lightning. Didn't they drive around and move their eyes or something?

I hope the actual treads work on him and he's not on wheels with fake treads.

Why do you think this?

It seems like this would be a perfect fit for Wall-E. They wouldn't have to hide the fact that this character is, in fact, a robot. The most successful animatronics are often robots.

Does Wall-E really talk? I know in the teaser trailer we hear him say his name and it sounds like a kind of slow-electronic voice. But it seems like he's going to have a limited vocabulary, which makes me wonder how this living character would interact. Perhaps with beeps and blips like R2D2?

According to various interviews, in the movie, Wall-E will communicate primarily via electronic sounds made to vaguely resemble speech. About two steps above R2-D2.

i would like to go see him and im just a kid at heart. :D

It seems like a pretty natural fit to me--they *are* robots, after all. If they can make it really true to the character, I think he could be one of the better living characters adapted.

If you're talking about what I posted, then yes as far as I know he's still going to be at WDW. I haven't heard anything else specific about dates, times etc. Hopefully they'll still Wall E out.
