This cant be done due to the use of shared modem rack access points. Example... AOL shares a single modem access rack with thousands of users. Therefore over a period of a week, a single IP address will be dynamically assigned to thousands of users. If I were to ban an IP address, that would effectilvely also ban thousands of other users. So that idea isnt really feasible.

If people want to breach the terms and conditions by signing up for multiple accounts to further their votes, they will be banned from the entire forum.

I have a serious confession to make.

I have been cheating during this entire poster contest. What I have been doing is everytime I get a vote, I hack into the system and give the votes to someone else instead. This is why I have 0 votes instead of hundreds! It has nothing to to with the fact that I got way to experimental with my design and that it does not fit the SE theme at all.

Bdis, maybe you should spend a little more time on your photoshop skills and less time on your cheating skills. When I won the last wallpaper contest it was because I worked hard, just like others who have won in the past. And it is not fair if we would have lost to cheaters like you. Entries like Wilson's and Main Street's deserve this one. Not your cheating a#$. My legit vote will go to one of them. Not mine, and definately not yours, because they are not the best entries for this contest.

And about me winning the last wallpaper contest, when Now does bring it back, I choose Reflections of Earth. Oh wait, I changed my mind, hey Bdis, whats your least favorite ride? That will be my choice for the next one. :animwink:

I am so glad to see we got this whole issue resolved finally...now maybe the contests will be FUN again...

I really still feel bad and apologize to everyone who may have lost previous contests due to vote tampering...I always wondered why some of our "better" entries would lose when they were obviously way ahead one day..and then way behind the next...

Oh..and BDis had more than 4 names that steve has found so far..so yeah..it was no accident. Luckily BDis is not on a dynamic IP so banning him will stick for a while

It Is not fun anymore..(for me at least) .after this cheating incident I quit w/ the contests. And even those that were the WRONG size made the final cut.....this does not make sense.:fork:

I don't think that would be fair now, after so many votes have been cast. I mean he made the final cut. If he wasn't cheating, it would still be there to vote on. I think it should stay, you never know, somebody still might want to vote for it.

I actually like your entries and I don't want to see you quit over something that shouldn't have taken place (cheating) and something that can be easily fixed the next time (improper entries).

That is true.. But since he isnt on the boards anymore *( as far as I know*).. What does it matter? Who will pick for him?

DMC...I appologize that oyu didnt make the final 15...I really had nothing to do with this one...I dont know the process used to choose the final entries or why yours wasnt used. I am sorry to see that you have made a decision to stay out of these things now, all I can ask is that you think about it some more, and maybe reconsider. If not for anything else, for the practice with GIMP (which you seem to be getting pretty good at).

Anyway...Again...I must apologize on behalf of the forum for this whole situation, I wish it was sniffed out sooner

No need to apoligize.... and for those who think it is poor sportmanship on my part it is not..... You know what... I will keep trying these contests... (hell I got a shiney new laptop...might as well use it for something beside work when I am at home )

I just get major *d off when I see others cheating..and "vote swaying". This one really got out of hand...and I should not let the cheaters get to me....I mean...how grade school is that......cheating that is. I hope the Next contest is a good one! All the posters look great gang.....and keep up the good work!
