Am the only person who completely hates the idea of this??

I don't like Stitch, I'm afraid!! ButI love the Tiki Room in it's original form and I really want it to go back to how it was!! No character tie ins or anything else like that, just the Tiki Room as it was originally designed!!

Please, please, please don't let them put Stitch in there!! It will be hideous!! And what on earth did they do to those birds?!? That's animal testing gone too far!!!

At least it will have the original song back...And I don't think Stitch will be there the whole show...Or will he?

My DH and I have a theory that Stitch is trying to take over the parks. When we were there last, it seemed that everything you could get with Mickey on it, you could get with Stitch on it. I think Stitch is trying to de-throne Mickey.

I will not stand for it!!!

Long live Mickey Mouse!!!

Woah, woah, woah-- calm down. In the case of WDI, never say never. The Submarine Voyage and the Sea-Cabs managed to come back. And the original Tiki Room in Disneyland is doing very well after 2005's refurb.

...the majority of WDW's guests (including the non-fanatics) actually like UNM... Besides, most guests like UNM and SGE anyway, including yours truly.

Umm...where's the scientific evidence to back up your statements? You really shouldn't make such generalizations if you can't back them up.

Not to mention the recent announcement of the return of the Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough at Disneyland. Yes, Disney does change their minds from time to time and realize something from the past was worth having again (thank you Tony Baxter!).
Based on what little was in the video, I'll go out on a limb and say it HAS to be better than Under New Management. I've never seen a Disney show that's both irritating to me in the queue - the three-year-old "do not/do too" bickering and yelling at each other - and even more irritating in the actual show - a cacophany of noise and stupidity is the best way I can describe it. Yes, I love the original show (and still catch it all the time at Disneyland), so I'm a bit biased, but if done with a modicum of intelligence and class, an update would not be a horrible thing. Stitch could add a supposedly-needed "hipness" to the place, and hearing him perform Polynesian songs would not seem at all unusual. Admittedly, the Stitch ears on the other characters are dopey, but otherwise I kind of like the idea of the Tokyo show. Again, it couldn't stink any worse than Under New Management...I think.
As for Stitch's Great Escape!, I know I am one of the only ones on this site to actually like it and feel it fits in perfectly in Tomorrowland (unlike its across the street neighbor), but if this is the only way to get a decent show back in the Tiki Room, then I suppose sacrificing SGE wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I only hope they don't decide to bring back Alien-on-a-Stick Encounter. Except for the preshows, that attraction was The Magic Kingdom's worst until Under New Management came along...in my opinion, of course.

(Kevin Rafferty, Jeff Burke, etc., all of whom are actually BIG Tiki Room fans), because they actually SAVED WDW's Tiki Room from the wrecking ball by revising show.
If they are such big fan's of the original than why do they suggest that the birds should "get hip" or your audience will dissappear. I would rather have the wrecking ball than having an obnoxious parrot calling me a sucker for 15 minutes.

I would not support the idea of having an enchanted stitch tiki room at WDW. First of all I dont even like the one they have at WDW right now, I would perfer Disney to put back the one at WDW like the one they have out at DL, the classic original one. I have never seen the one out in DL, but have seen numerous videos of it on the Walt Disney Treasure DVD's and it looks alot better than the one that they currently have. It's a Walt Disney classic attraction, I dont know why in the heck the made it the under new management one, they should of have never changed it. I dont like it when they mess with the classic attractions, they should of left them the way Walt did, it was his attractions.

Wouldn't mind either of those...

So Adam, since the Stitch Tiki Room is coming soon, will there be a point when SGE and the Tiki Room are BOTH open at the same time or will SGE close immediately after so it can be redone for a new attraction?

Also, any hints on what is going into SGE?:DThe BNL things?

They would likely close at least one of the pods on Stitch's Great Escape (since one of the Stitch animatronics will be sent to the Tiki Room--the other will probably be shipped elsewhere, and I won't comment on that location just yet) during the refurbishment of the Tiki Room itself. The Tomorrowland attraction would then close in full before the opening of the new Tiki Room with Stitch.

As for its replacement, I've heard several different stories, none of which have a definite filler... Mind you, it all depends on the Tomorrowland overhaul as a whole and the effect it will have on Stitch's Great Escape's location and the show opposite it as well... :animwink:

It would make sense to do it that way. SGE could easily go on for a while with one main theater closed. It would be a rare occasion where the waits would get out of hand with one bay closed anyways.

I just can't wait until Disney makes that news official. It will be a great day :)

OK, that gets me excited. I know other people really like MILF, and I have, since my last trip, upgraded my view from 'terrible' to 'okay,' but I especially don't like it in Tomorrowland. Move it to DHS, and let's see what they come up with for TL.

This week has since some great rumors and ideas floating around these boards....very exciting :sohappy:

If they are gonna get rid of anything, PLEASE put us out of our misery and close the Country Bears. I have nightmares about that show, and break out in a cold sweat even just walking by it in the park!!!

"Blood on the saddle... blood all around...."

So, jedimaster, from what you've heard, is this thing looking likely, or are we really just talking blue sky at this point?

Yet another reason to revert.:dazzle:DL gets it, why not WDW?:dazzle:

There's a problem though. I think the main reason why the tiki room is popular again is because its at the enterance of adventureland in DL and has the torches that draw people in. Even if WDW added torches, it still wouldn't really draw people in because its not really in a good location.

Here's what I'd do with tomorrowland:

*extend the avenue of the planets look and themeing to the rest of the land.

*Replace SGE with a new updated alien encunter ( please Disney, just bring it back. I beg you! :( ).

*Replace MILF with a differnt version of timekeeper which is a simulator ride instead of circle vision show using simulator technology originally designed for the "Toon Bus" concept in which there are screens on both sides of the simulator to give an immersive feel and be quite thrilling too.

*Turn the old skyway station into a pizza port.

Just some ideas that I think could work.:D
