If folks like authentic, then I imagine they can't wait for "Four Grannies on Porch, Rocking on their Rockers, Knitting and Humming Frank Sinatra Songs" at the American Adventure.
Is that the replacement for Drum and Fife? Interesting. Do you think it will be based like Four for a Dollar's show prior to Beauty and the Beast? Kind of have then rocking, knitting, and humming and then all of a sudden they are up and belting out Sinatra tunes. An all women quartet singing Sinatra classics? I wonder if the items they knit would be offered for sale?

I'm getting sick of hating on the new EPCOT costcuts, I mean entertainment. But come on people, you guys really liked this show? really????? and you can't say "you like the show and think it fits in well", and at the same time say "you wouldn't stay for more then a few minutes". If you wouldn't watch it all the way through, is it really the caliber of show that belongs in a Disney park?? I haven't seen the flag show in Italy yet, so maybe that will be the saving grace in this situation.
I wouldn't actively watch for more than a few minutes. While sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying the atmosphere, I would passively watch for much longer.

It fits well.

There sure has been a lot of mixed comments involving this new entertainment, which actually makes sense because I feel the same way. On one hand, this new group is definitely trying to create an authentic Moroccan experience which isn't bad at all and in my opinion will tie well together with a meal at Spice Road Table, similar to Biergarten in Germany.

On the other hand, the group does seem to be a bit one-note. I'm going to chalk it up to the fact that most of them are playing a drum/tambourine style instrument. I enjoyed this show more than the lumberjacks, that's for sure but I'm not sure how this compares to Mo'Rockin. I suppose it all depends on the person's tastes. For example if a Jpop group were to start preforming on the stage in Japan, I'd be very interested to see it, but I'm sure there are many out there who would not be able to stand that style of music and keep on walking towards another country.

I'm going to call this offering a wash for now. 1 for 1.

Again, very happy with what's going on with replacements!! :) I'm loving them!

This is what World Showcase's pavilions should have had in the FIRST place.. Traditional-style entertainment for each country. Heck, even the flag-waving is amazing!

NOW is when I'm starting to get disappointed with the canadian lumberjack show.. I thought it was fine at first, but I'd prefer a more traditional approach now. I love this! Very cool!

Listened to their set today while I waited in line for a spicy shrimp roll. It does appear to be quite traditional, but was drawing a decent crowd.

Now, EPCOT in general drew a huge crowd today, so take it as you may.

The performers seemed to being having fun and ventured out into the crowd and danced.

I never really stopped to watch MoRockin so I can't really say whether it's an upgrade or downgrade, but at a time when there is an outcry that WS is drifting away from its roots, this is a nice addition.

As someone who didn't really stop for Mo'Rockin' I can't really complain or compare. But, I will say this seems authentic and traditional. I would stop for a bit and listen. Probably the same with Italy and the flag waving.

Quick pedantic comment: Morocco is not Eastern. It's not even Middle Eastern, although it has strong ties to that part of the world.

It's farther west than most of Europe.

But yes, the music is very different, so your comment still stands. :)

Geographically you are correct, As you say though culturally it is very much an mideast country

The music has a beautiful, true African-based sound to it, which is exactly what Morocco is.
Sound wise I like it better than the prior group;
Visually it's appealing, but not jaw dropping. I think if they dressed each woman in colors that enhanced her it might be a bit better. The bonus with this group is that I don't feel inferior to a beautiful young belly dancer :D;
Emotionally the group seems to be having a lot of fun. I welcome the change and hope the guests will give them a chance.

Hearing rumors this group is done after this weekend. Anyone know more?
I believe they are not on the schedule after this weekend, which could point to a departure. They are also around that 1 year point. Nothing definite though.

That would be a shame. They really bring a lot of life and atmosphere to the Morocco pavilion.

Didn't Disney just finish building that stage from scratch? It seems like they would want to get a bit more use out of it.

I would not be surprised to see this become a trend. Bring in an authentic group from the country, have them there for a year, then switch out for another group. Rinse and repeat. No time to build a fan base, with all the complaints about them leaving. And likely much cheaper too.

Watch out, fans of Paul McKenna band or the flag twirlers.

I don't see the rotating of acts as something bad. For someone who goes to Epcot quite often, it would be nice to see fresh acts brought in. And that's coming from a fan of Paul McKenna.

I had thought I read somewhere that the Paul McKenna band was also leaving to diversify it's exposure. Quite a shame as they are really good musically. They dont connect with me the same way that some of the other acts like Off Kilter did though. Maybe by design?? Marie

They're still kind of young. Maybe they want to spend time touring again, or maybe take a few months off. It's like 6 shows a day for a band that use to dictate their own schedule.
