Hoping something will be ready to go by May but seems like they are trying to plan for most things to come in the Summer or by Oct 1st

If you're talking about the recent report from Inside the Magic let me first say: LOL

I will then follow that by proving that Inside the Magic is clickbait, wrong, and shouldn't be taken seriously...ever. My proof? A screenshot of a video from August 2020 showing the sign in the exact same state as the "recent report" that incorrectly states that the sign being painted over is new.

Long story short? Never trust Inside the Magic, they have no idea what they're doing and don't know the Disney parks

So you're saying we should trust instead. :devilish:

5th gate? Just build a new resort Bob.
If it is going to be Maxpass based then - paging @lentesta! - it would be awesome if the Lines app had the ability to recommend booking a FastPass with MaxPass immediately after you scan into a FP queue; currently the software seems to think you have to wait until you have stepped off the ride to book your next FP.

That probably non-novel suggestion is offered free of charge lol.

Surge pricing to get into the FP line!

$3 to get in the FP line on Peter Pan's Flight in September.

$33 to get in the FP line on Space Mountain during Christmas week!

You laugh...but the water flows where it wants unimpeded.

Oh jeeze, I've defended a lot but if they went to a microtransaction model I might riot.

Prior defenses lead to bigger crimes. I feel like I’ve warned the fandom For 20 years...but I might have imagined it.

won’t happen but imagine if it was a resort perk. Everything would be forgiven but probably go against the whole idea of the pass

No way in the hottest of hells.

No..... there is a recent report that the Fast pass queue sign at Space Mountain was painted over. But it may just be routine maintenance.

Is this "new" service going to let you have Magic Access to the rides? 🤔

They could always hook everything into Genie I guess... but the need for that (imo) would be limited with Genie+ Hours.

Then again, do they consider day guests to be the Ultimate suckers fans? I guess they could always just Pay for each pass as well.

Or am I off base here...

That's doable. It's easier (for us) if you're also timing your wait in line. We'd trigger the "Hey, book your FP now" notification as soon as you said you were in line.

Also don’t forget that all Disneyland’s MaxPass does is give electronic access to “paper” FastPass. Disneyworld already has the more advanced FastPass system with FP+.
I think what is being discussed is more comparable with Universals Express Pass or Six Flags Flash Pass.

It’s tough to make a touring plan that I can have confidence in if I can’t schedule myself to be taking advantage of all of the MP “tricks” when making the plan. TY!

So you're saying...in time for my October trip! Yeah! :D 😂
Don’t get too excited!
Four things we don’t know:
  1. Is this new thing something that will generally improve your park experience?
  2. Will it be gamable by those who care to learn to game it?
  3. Will it cost money?
  4. If so, will using it (or using it productively) cost more money than I personally am (or you personally are) willing to spend on it?
The answers to these four questions will make a biiiig difference in whether this is good or bad!
