First time posting in the Universal side of things here...I just spoke with someone in the know...I don't often claim this, but I actually spoke to someone with firsthand knowledge (see discussion of when TRON was going to open if you don't believe my source's track record).

There are a huge number of animatronics in Epic Universe, with at least one attraction having "a Pirates of the Caribbean-level amount." Universal is "pivoting 180 degrees" from screen-based rides. And Epic Universe will be a "gamechanger that will force Disney to respond with big additions."

I don't talk to this person often and they can't share much, but this is very exciting to hear.

That sounds absolutely absurd in this age of attraction design but I hope it is all true

Well that rules out mariokart, and probably dragon land. So either monsters or Harry Potter land

From what Alicia Stella has said in various videos and podcasts, HTTYD land will be covered in outdoor animatronics, like if the entire land was on the Hagrids ride course. Mario land will also be dripping in outdoor ones, with a few simple ones on Kart and a few on DK as well. Monsters will have one in the Werewolf coaster during the swing launch, and tons in the main ride, which will use the same ride system as Forbidden Journey but with none of the extended simulator segments. Finally, there will be a ton of incredibly advanced animatronics on the Ministry of Magic ride. I would hazard a guess that either Potter or Monsters will be the Pirates-level one. Overall, it should be amazing. Looking at the last few things Uni has done (except for Minion Blast), they have mostly been animatronic heavy with screens in the background or preshows. Very excited for this park. It should be the peak of everything Uni has ever done.

, and tons(AA’s) in the main ride(wolf coaster)

While “tons” certainly has no specific quantity in this context, it does imply an overwhelming amount. Are you using the right word to describe things here?

So approx. how many AA’s are we talking about? I ask because I would have a hard time believing anything over 10; even 5 sounds like a terribly unrealistic expectation.

Gringott's has 9, if I remember correctly. 10 if you count the one outside in the "money exchange".

AFAIK the Wolfman coaster has 1 animatronic, if that. I believe the main monsters ride will have a good amount though. Super Nintendo World alone probably has over 20 animatronics in the land, too many too count, and that's not even including Donkey Kong.
To be honest, I'm not sure if I believe the claim that there will be an attraction with as many animatronics as POTC, maybe they misheard and they were talking about the whole park in total or a land. The most animatronic heavy Universal ride in recent memory (Secret Life of Pets) only has a total of 64.

Yes, this is pretty much what I meant. If one were to be on the level of Pirates, it would be Potter from what I can tell.

I know it’s literally from Donkey Kong Country 2, but I’m not kidding when I say this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. Really hope a rendition plays within the land.
Have it play at night.

Also this might be sacrilege to being a big Nintendo fan, but when it comes to the original DKC trilogy I’ve only ever played the first game
