I thought Invisible Man was great… I thought it was pretty well received fromTo be fair, Dracula Untold & del Toro's Wolfman didn't exactly set the world on fire either. They just haven't had any luck rebooting these franchises.

Others as well
I just dont see itInvisible Man did do well critically.
But now try imaging that 'invisible man' fitting into a new 'Monster Universe.'
You should, it's very clear.I just dont see it
I agree with much of this…I don‘t think the new Invisible Man would be a great fit for a theme park….I do think that it is odd that it has taken this long for Universal to create a Universal Monster land….the Universal monsters are the most iconic characters of the studio..,they should go old school with the theme parkInvisible Man did do well critically.

These reboot failures go to my point which I've made before, which I know many don't like, that the "Universal Monsters" IP isn't going to be too attractive to guests. Yes, I know that some here have warm feelings to them. Do you believe the general public, or children, have the same nostalgia?
If the rides of Monster Land are good, Monster Land will do well, because the rides are good.
If the rides aren't that good... don't count on the IP to save it.
Well, something resembling the OG designs would be a safe bet. The rights to use some of the actual likenesses of the actors from those films can get a bit hairy.since the terrible pun combo was already broken, back to more relevant matters, yeah I assume they're going with the OG Universal Monster designs
they're approaching a century but they've had better legs than anything else outside of Darkstalkers and maybe Hammer

I think the monster wrasslin styles of Godzilla better lend themselves to repeated tentpole type movies.Surprisingly, the Monsterverse has actually been able to semi-successfully reboot that franchise.
Godzilla and Kong seem to have staying power no matter how many times they reboot them.
Is it just because giant monsters destroying buildings will always be fun to watch? The Universal Monsters have more reality-based "small-scale" stories rather than global destruction.
Maybe the Dark Universe doesn't work as a big-budget blockbuster but would really work as a well-done set of series like the Marvel Netflix shows.
The monsters don't work in a universe because it doesn't make a lot of sense for most of them to do battle, sans Wolfman and Dracula. The only recent crossovers/universes that have worked involved punches and kicks.Maybe the Dark Universe doesn't work as a big-budget blockbuster but would really work as a well-done set of series like the Marvel Netflix shows.
tbf they did crossovers back in the day, sometimes even without Abbot and/or CostelloThe monsters don't work in a universe because it doesn't make a lot of sense for most of them to do battle, sans Wolfman and Dracula. I (and my family) am 100% biased toward the Wizarding World. The rest sounds interesting, but for us, Wizarding World is where it's at for this project. So any news or information regarding it as it comes along is more than welcomed.
@Andrew25 You're killing me! I have not been on ROR, but a ride that parallels that style would be beyond EPIC!!! I want it yesterday! This attraction is now my most anticipated. The ride building is huge in scale and its sets are expected to rival Rise of the Resistance.

I agree...but they can all coexist in the same "cinematic universe" even if they don't crossover and do battle against each other. The monsters don't work in a universe because it doesn't make a lot of sense for most of them to do battle, sans Wolfman and Dracula.
