Uni waiting for Marvel Buyout from Disney?

Isn't Kong's Skull Island planned to be somewhere adjacent to Jurassic Park? That said, an overhaul of Marvel Island transforming it into Monster Island and featuring a Godzilla ride as well would be more then welcome.

It was obvious from the movie the they had in mind potential theme park possibilities for the future. Just saying.

And if Uni was ever to build a third gate it would only be with an IP they own lock stock barrel. That is obvious even to a person not paying attention.

It certainly would not be Marvel unless Uni bought out Disney. I would shocked if that happened. Like this kind of shocked

And I expect you to start a new thread if you are proved wrong.
You have already been proved wrong because you cannot quote a specific "must" line or the stipulations that would govern the maximum size of the second plus resorts with Marvel Super Hero Island. Contracts do no work on assumptions or intent.

Nice try. MyMagic+ was supposed to have ROI and was pitched as such. We're talking crazy amounts of money JUST to get the rights back - that's before they spend anything on meet 'n greet characters or actual attendance boosting attractions, all of which would have to drive enough increased revenue to justify the construction of the new attraction(s) AND the purchase of the rights.

And considering that if you cut out all the other films, the Iron Man films alone would still qualify as one of the most popular and successful film franchises of all time, yes, there would absolutely be a ROI. Even if somehow the MCU films quickly drop in quality and popularity, characters like Spider-Man and the X-Men are going to popular no matter what.

Only if you think that Disney will suddenly wake up and want to spend $1 billion on a single ride.

If they'd only do one single ride, that would be incredibly foolish. Even disregarding a full on fifth gate dedicated to Marvel characters, you've got numerous ride possibilities for several characters, meet and greets, shows, and and even something like the Pirate's League or Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with a superhero theme ("Design your own superhero costume and join the Avengers Academy!"). The merchandise potential alone makes it something to consider.

The industry is aware of what others are doing. If Disney was planning a Marvel fifth gate, Universal would have some idea that their plans are that large and want a price fitting of Disney's ambition.

Which is why I said "disregarding". The simple fact is, if Marvel keeps cranking out films featuring characters that Uni can't or won't utilize and those films keep getting popular, then the rides they have now are eventually going to be considered dated and corny (especially if Sony continues to make awful Spider-Man films; AS2 is regarded as being worse than Spider-Man 3, which shouldn't actually even be possible). And there are going to be other IPs that Uni could get where they would have more freedom in utilizing them, like the aforementioned Harry Potter spin-off.

Where is it stated that Universal lacks freedom?

Several times! They are stuck with the comic book versions. THAT is why despite Iron Man's popularity, they haven't done anything with him, because unless it looks enough like RDJ, people aren't going to give a crap. They cannot use any villains from the movie, if they want to use the Mandarin, they can only use to potentially offensive "Yellow Peril" version from the comics. Et cetera.

Universal would be wise to avoid following Walt Disney World in chasing such a stupid crowd.
