Aquatica closed to capacity today as well. As it has done so everyday for the past two weeks...

Nice to see the older guys catch up. Wonder how Grandpa Munster (Wet n Wild) is doing?

I can't wait until the summer when every other day it will close to capacity... and I'll be there WORKING! :)

I'm not too up on my dates, but I guess the closing isn't due to the fact that Blizzard Beach is still undergoing refurb. The main page didn't have refurb dates on it, so I guess it's opened back up.

You know, I've never actually been to a WDW water park. Is that a sin?

Neither have I! I just can't tear myself away from the parks. Now, I am only speculating, since I've never been, but I imagine that the waterparks there are pretty similar to every other water park. I can go to waterparks near my house; I can't go to Disney near my house:lol:

I haven't been to a waterpark since i was in grade 3... so like 10 years ago approx. I went to Typhoon and River Country I think it was called. Typhoon was an absolute blast.... up hear in Canada I have been to the West Edmonton Mall waterpark numerous times (i think its billed the largest indoor waterpark) and Typhoon still kills it.

This summer i am going to WDW with friends and we plan to hit up both waterparks... i am quite excited for it.

I agree, I just can't seem to pull myself away from the theme parks. We have a couple of large water parks near us that we visit several times each summer. So when we go to WDW, the water parks are not the draw for us. We have never been to one at WDW. Maybe someday, but right now we just really LOVE the parks!

Have to say you are wrong there unless you live in maybe one or two other places that have one of the top water parks in the world.

Typhoon is so tropical it is gorgeous. The atmosphere really does a lot for the park.

Blizzard has all its major slides coming off the mountain and you can ride a ski lift to get up there. Blizzard is also a really pretty park. It has the wintry snowy look with winter songs but it also is lushly tropical around the beaches and lazy river etc.

I went to all the other parks in Florida when my kids were little and never went on a slide until I went to Typhoon. I did my first slide at 40 and loved it so Typhoon has a special place in my memory book.

Both parks are not just concrete walks with slides sticking up all over the place. They are fun and beautiful.....also Blizzard has those little bags of donuts that are to die for! LOL

I've never been to the water parks at Disney either, nor do I think I ever will. I have the Wisconsin Dells a mere 50 minutes from my house (home of the world's largest waterpark along with another 15 or so in various resorts in the city.) and would go there if I have a desire to walk around, wet in a swimsuit in front of thousands of people I don't know.

I love the theme parks and fill every vacation with my visits to only the theme parks. Even skipping the water parks, I rarely get to do everything I want to do when I go.

I think the water parks are great for those who don't get the opportunity to experience them elsewhere, they just aren't for my family when we're in Orlando.

Those of you who know - during the summer, what are closures like? How often, around what time, do they reopen later in the day, etc? Thanks.

The past two weeks here in Orlando have been warmer than normal. I was down near Aquatica several times last week and it was closed due to crowd levels. I turned around and headed home because if Aquatica is packed, then most likely, all water parks are packed!

Floridians love the crowds... It keeps us from paying state income tax! :p

It's been HOT lately. Seriously, near record heat. (I should know. My a/c unit was out for two days and one night which was pure agony until the apartment complex finally got around to getting a replacement.)

So it's no surprise to hear they're reaching capacity. It's been around 85F (30C) solid every day for about two weeks now.
