Thanks for messing up my night! Haha
True, I forgot about that one. It was quite a successful one overall i'd sayHaunted Mansion's 2007 refurb was really, really good. Better audio, the Escher staircase room, new attic, floating Leota, and other minor enhancements. Respects the original and improves the ride dramatically.
It's difficult to compare rides with completely different styles and atmospheres, but I prefer World of Motion over Haunted Mansion at least and gives Pirates a run for its money (definitely beats WDW's at least, I use Paris' as the best version of Pirates). Though I certainly love Mansion's atmosphere and realize it's difficult to compare them. It's just incredibly hard to beat EPCOT's old roster, they were truly something. The new Test Track is a vast improvement over the original, as I see it. I have only seen videos of World of Motion, but I'd probably prefer it. I get the whole thrill rides thing, but WoM looks like an excellent dark ride that might well be just a step behind Haunted Mansion or Pirates.
Both would be ideal, but if I had to take one, World of Motion.
Does this add fuel to the Dr. Doof rumors? I don't see them getting rid of Osborn lights entirely, the more they think it through I'm sure they will come up with a solution. It seems to be a huge draw, and a tradition for so many people.

Spaceship Earth (94 version is my fav), Horizons, Imagination 1.0 and World of Motion are all easily contenders for the greatest rides ever made to me. The non-WDW versions of Pirates along with the WDW/TDL versions of Splash Mountain are the only rides i'd place around the same level of impressiveness. Though I highly value rides with elaborate physical show scenes and tons of animatronics in my opinions on rides. Having those are important to me.
So i'll just say these are my "incredible six" (and won't place one over the other in brilliance)-
- Spaceship Earth 94
- Horizons
- Imagination 1.0
- World of Motion
- Splash Mountain (WDW/TDL versions)
- Pirates of the Caribbean (DLP version)
And yes it sucks beyond fathoming that only 2 out of those 6 are still present and as good as ever (though I can only go by what I've heard about Pirates at DLP due to not having visited in decades now). SSE is still there at least, but needs to have its unfortunate partial lobotomy undone to regain its lofty status (at least it's still closer to intact and more salvageable than the other 3 ruinations).
By the way, we rode the Scotch Whiskey Experience in Edinburgh, Scotland back in late May. As far as non-Disney dark rides go, it was really cool. High quality. Much better than current Imagination. Plus, the ticket included a scotch tasting, which is never a bad thing.
I dot understand the hate for the Nemo Seas Pavillion either??? And the only complaint for it seems to be that it retells the same story from the movie??? Doesn't every single ride in fantasyland "retell" those movies???? I don't get why nemo is singled out???
Before or after the ride? Because...if it's before, that may have coloured your opinion. <grin>
Fixed that for you.
I'm not a spelling freak, but it completely changes the meaning of your post.
Anyhow, I could see them dropping the Osborne Lights, but I suspect if they did they'd replace them with some other holiday spectical.
The guy responsible for the lights died in 2011...
Nothing will ever convince me that Test Track is anywhere close to World of Motion, Mission SPACE is anywhere close to Horizons, Imagination 2 and 3 are anywhere close to 1.0 and etc etc.
That's because the writers/directors of these have done eight Cartoon Network shows and the creator of the shorts also created the old Count Duckula series. The more I watch, the more I think the shorts capture Mickey's old personality but the less I like the artistic style. It looks like a weird grimey Cartoon Network show.
I like the new Mickey shorts a lot. The character animation is a bit weird and could use some work (their expressions are a bit too zany and remind me too much of Ren and Stimpy), but I actually really like the background art. The yodeling cartoon actually reminded me of Mary Blair's artwork (especially the cuckoo clocks remind me of her Small World art), is that just me?
I definitely hope they continue these beyond just the ones planned so far. And I hope they do more cartoon shows in the future with art like this (or anything non-cgi). It would be amazing if we could also get some new more plot-heavy shows similar to Duck Tales and others from that era.

I figured, Mary Blair was the first thing that popped into my head when I watched these new shorts, particularly the yodeling one. Awesome tribute and looks fantastic as a result! I hope they continue to revisit drawn animation in future animated TV shows (and get some great writers on board so we can have some sweet Disney Afternoon type shows like englanddg said). It's not just you. They were purposely drawn into it to pay homage to Mary Blair.
...and in the process blocked half the windows into the tank that used to be visible from the Omnimover....To be completely honest, Living Seas, the initial ride through the middle of the tank was basically boring, boring, boring and incredibly short, even to someone that appreciates the purpose of EPCOT. At least the Nemo connection gave us something reliable to see.
What's with all the Phineas and Ferb hate?
The show is still in the middle of its fourth season, with a feature film slated to hit theatres next year. I really doubt they're going anywhere anytime soon...
In the past, yes. There used to be a 65 episode rule with Disney Channel shows. Not anymore.
Hannah Montana - 98 episodes
Wizards of Waverly Place- 106 episodes
Suite Life franchise - 158 episodes total
Good Luck Charlie (Still airing) - 84 Episodes
Phineas and Ferb (Still airing) - 109 episodes (Technically 192, if you count each vignette separately)
