lol - where did you get that? All I was saying is Hulk is just another exposed coaster like those in Dollywood. It's good just like theirs but it's not something that is pulling crowds in by the masses as a must travel to attraction and all

I guess those reports of massive 6-10 hours wait for "an exposed coaster" at Universal Studios Japan must be fake? The fact you need to book at least 1-2 weeks in advance to secure a 100 USD Universal Express ticket for a SINGLE ride on Flying Dinosaur must also be my imagination?

I get that some people hate "exposed coasters", but at least at Universal Studios Japan, people are voting with their feet.

I do free dining each time and unless you don't eat food....saves much more than room discounts.
The ridiculous food prices would lead you to believe that, but again that's the problem with the dining plan to begin with. If it works for you that's great, I didn't find the same, and that's before they stripped and overpriced it.

I wasn't referring to Japan - I was referring to Orlando where there are a lot of coasters in different places

Kong looks cool.... new Hulk refurb... eh...while good... it's just another exposed coaster

How terrible an exposed coaster.....I don't subscribe to the everything needs to be hidden theory. Done tastefully and we'll coasters can be visible. I think the hulk is very well done and now the theming inside will be quality

Hulk isn't terrible....I enjoy it....but it is just a coaster which theme parks everywhere pretty much have. Don't get me wrong, I love a good coaster my point was hulk does not compare to something like potterland as a whole and in terms of draw

I'm not too keen (yet anyways) on the slinky dog coaster coming to DHS either based on what I've seen and don't even get me started on the mine train which other than the scenes inside is one of the most overrated rides at WDW imo

I hear you, but I'd also have to argue that it's hardly free when you're paying Disney's current rack rates for a room. It's actually quite smart what they've done. They have convinced many that free dining is a deal while rolling up the price on rooms, all while taking more out of the dining plan. Gotta love it.

No one including WDI is excited about the Slinky Dog coaster which will probably end up with something like THIS

True rack rate blows would never pay deluxe prices for example. We now live in Florida so I find the chances of staying on property getting alot lower. We booked a room Saturday night at flamingo crossings

Ironically launch coasters are still a little rare. But I think layout and such play a big part of it. The Hulk for its credit hides alot of coaster in the back and only the first few high points dominate the skyline from within the park. I think montu at BG is another really well laid out example. And to universals credit they haven't gone coaster heavy part of me wishes Disney had one real big coaster. RRC is really fun and I think the traditional coaster thrill has a place in great moderation at the parks.

I am not shocked that WDW hae a small decrease in attendance thiw quarter. Seaworld announced they did due to Brazil's economy. Universal also announced their attendance in the US was stable. That means the same qs the prior year. Now there are 2 ways to take that. Either their Hollywood expansion is a disaster or they also had an increase out west and a decrease in Orlando. I tend to believe both companies har a drop in Florida attendance due to Brazil which would be backed up by the fact on one thread here someone posted they got a room at Cabana Bay for $55.00 a night. Don't worry though both companies are doing very well ae 88% occupancy rates are to something every other hotel company would love to have.

When does WDW close? I want to visit one last time before it gets stripped for parts.
It wont close, they will still charge people to come stand around and point at what was once Space Mountain or Tower of Terror. The Disney Defenders will no doubt find a way to herald it as a wonderful experience that is simply a strategic business move allowing what the market will bare.

It had several other typos. Here is the revised version. Feel free to add to it.

Oh I seriously hope not! Although with their tract record you are probably right. They need to get B&M to design a good coaster as they are awesome about hilly coasters. (just need them to get one with lower height requirements. They need to drop the fear of putting a good coaster in or get better designers. We all realize that wdw will never be a coaster park but if you are going to try at least do it right.
