TTA to be replaced with...GYROBALLS?

Kind of sounds like Primeaval Whirl on a level surface. All the :hurl: without the bothersome drops.

I dont think you understand. It would be slow moving but you could control the spin similar to Buzz Lightyear and Roger Rabbit. Just like you can control the up/down motion in dumbo.

This allows you to get a full 360 degree view of Tomorrowland inside and out. It would probably include some 360 degree show scenes in buildings ala Roger Rabbit where they have to theme the full room so that no matter where the car is facing they get to see something.

It sounds like Buzz Lightyear - type spinning, with possibly hidden things in the track that would encourage you to go onto the ride again and search for the hidden objects...? I can dream...

Imagine...an automated tour of New NEW Tomorrowland with breathtaking vistas where YOU control the view and direction of your craft! :dazzle:

Anyone have a demonstration video of a working gyro ball vehicle? I am curious to see what it looks like.
Not a video...but if you squint just right...

Is there that big a problem with just turning one's head to see the different views and breathtaking vistas??

And for the record, this would be Disneyland's New New New Tomorrowland.

Tomorrowland - 1955 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMV_fTDvhJc
New Tomorrowland - 1967 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwZIO6gApnc
New New Tomorrowland - 1998 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIIUuGLYZBM
New New New Tomorrowland - 20?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGL7VqAWJZ4&feature=related

The rumors about this Tomorrowland remake have been gaining strength lately on Disneyland boards, and yet something tells me we have to get the DCA Billion Dollar Makeover nearing completion in 2011 before we see big stuff for Tomorrowland. That's just my opinion though.

And like Lee mentioned, Rocket Rods was only really good at night. But it had to be one of those gorgeous Southern California summer nights with a cheesy cover band playing at Tomorrowland Terrace. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBPUs_s96v0 And I might like to add that you needed to be in the front row of the Rocket Rod for it to really work, even if the band was good. :)

I'm a huge Disneyland PeopleMover fan. Seriously HUGE. I buy Goodyear tires to this day because they were the sponsor of the PeopleMover I remember from the 20th century. And the TTA at WDW, along with a few things in Epcot, are really the only reason I return to WDW on occasion. My real travel passion has turned to visiting Tokyo Disney Resort when I can, instead of Florida.

So if they put this Gyroball thing in at Disneyland in 2012, and then clone it in WDW in 2015 or something, I won't have much reason to return to WDW. And I'm not alone in that amongst West Coast WDW fans. So it would be wise to keep at least one PeopleMover left on this planet without turning it into a Disneyland clone.

Teacup on a track ?

Sounds exactly like Disneyland's Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin in ToonTown, a dark ride where you can spin your car as fast as you want and the show takes place all around you.

Thinking about it, if they could create a Roger Rabbit type experience except with a 360 degree gyrosphere motion, this might be a really fun attraction.

I'd like to see it at Epcot instead of sacrificing the TTA for it. With General Motors on thin ice and a new sponsor needed for an aging attraction concept that is getting weaker every year, perhaps it's something that could replace Test Track?

Now there's an idea.

So would these ride vehicles be air conditioned or will you slowly bake in this sphere of death under the California sun?

Turning your head to look at something is so Frontier Land, that hassle will be fixed in Tomorrow Land

um...well in order to do that you would need to be on the track which is currently impossible.

Plus, there is something intriguing about riding a ride backwards.
