TSM 380 min wait?

high hopes for january

I'm hoping SOME of the hub bub will have died down by the time I go in January. (Plus there's the general lack of people then)

However I never did get to ride EE when I went last year because they closed the single riders line down, as well as fastpass, and the wait was 55 min. We had to leave time to get back to the Poly to change for the luau that night. :(

I'm hoping the same won't happen again with TSM this time. Oh and I'm going on EE this time!!! I'll make a mad dash when the park opens, look out small children!:ROFLOL:

No, the single rider line at RNR, or any ride for that matter, do NOT bring up the wait times. They actually bring the wait times down, hence why they have it.

Sounds like a problem with the FLIK cards... you know, those little red cards they give out to maintain the wait time display? Usually happens if a card isn't flicked right and re-circulates into the next line.

Oh thats what they are! I've always wondered.

I've seen EE have a wait time of 400mins in EMH. Sensing this was a mistake we waited and it turned out to be less than 15mins.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I've worked at RnRC before and after the single rider line was in place and it definitely increased the wait times for the standby line. In the old system, the grouper would search for odd numbered parties and group them together to fill the seats. Once the single rider line was put in, they started placing singles in those empty spots and using less from the standby line.

Using less standby = longer standby wait

That also goes for FastPass. There are times almost every day when the FP wait exceeds 15 minutes. Same reason. One reason it was added is to increase the hourly counts, but that's only adding single riders and taking away from standby/FP since it doesn't increase it by much, if at all (which RnRC did not).

That certainly makes sense. Still, the SRL is great for repeat rides with minimal waits.

... So before you would pick the single riders out of the main line to fill the single spots and now they are in one seperate line.. And that somehow increased wait times?

At 3:30 today, wait time was 90 minutes and all FPs were distributed for the day, and its EMH until 1am tonight. We checked again before leaving the park and still 90 minute wait with the line qued up outside the building.

90 min is a little more doable. 380 minutes...sorry, I realllly want to ride TSM but would NOT wait 6 hours.

It was determined that this was a malfunction of the flik cards that they use to determine the wait times.

It looks like we have another Soarin' on our hands. A hugely popular attraction that has low capacity.

I was there the tuesday after memorial day I think it was May 27th. I got to DHS around 10:30 walked over to TSM grad a fastpass for 50 mintes later got on the standby line which said 25 minutes, it was 25 minutes. HAve to agree with the FP line its just a big pain the way the have it set up just like peter pan. It drives me nutz. All in all I liked the ride, if the ride wait was 360 minutes the cue must of gone outside somewhere cause there was no room inside, unless I missed something (hum):zipit:

I really wish they had not put FP on this ride. It is going to consistently make the stanby line ridiculously long and it seams that FP's are gone by noon-1pm everyday. Plus the fact that this ride still seems to be having issues is just making the lines even worse.

Over at Mice Chat, Mouseketeer posted photos of Disneyland's version of TSM. Amongst these photos was the computer shot that tracked the vehicles through the attraction, and noted a dispatch ever 38 seconds. Given dual tracks, and 8 people per car, that would put the ride's maximum capacity at just over 1500, with 1400 a little more likely.

That's about right. With loading delays, it might even bring it lower. Yet another low-capacity attraction. We need more rides like Pirates and Haunted Mansion that can carry over 2500 guests an hour.

You didn't understand my post. When you actively seek out odd-numbered parties to seat together in even-numbered ride vehicles, your wait stays the same (you're using the standby to the fullest potential) and your capacity increases with the singles added in to empty spots. When you place a single rider in every empty spot and use less odd-numbered parties, you are using less from the standby line and increasing the wait time. It all depends on the person who is grouping and how efficient they are.

About what are the average wait times for the SRL during a regular summer day? Is the SRL there as popular as Test Track or is it more like what Mission Space's was when it was operating (about 5-10 minutes most of the time)?
