Not sure they can do anything completely in secret due to the requirement of permits.
Permits are so vague these days that there may have been permits for a new attraction without us every knowing it.

I did not. While I'm sure it was a different experience, it can hardly be considered a "special enhancement," in that it wasn't something that added to the original theme or related to Halloween in any way.Did you ride it though?
It. Was. Awesome!
Aren’t you a professional permit decipherer though?Permits are so vague these days that there may have been permits for a new attraction without us every knowing it.
They must be on to him after the big gondola discovery...Aren’t you a professional permit decipherer though?

I don’t believe that for a minute. Maintenance, maybe. A new attraction? It wouldn’t get past your expert permit-sensing radar.
You only had Fantasyland with synergy initially."But Mr Mike S, were we successful because of good maintenance, or because of synergy with our movie characters?" asked the suit.
One-way synergy, yes.You only had Fantasyland with synergy initially.
You don’t synergize with duds. You only had Fantasyland with synergy initially.
Trees are torn down, track is torn up.
Maybe.Well that was fast. I wonder are they planning on slightly rerouting the track for Tron?
Most of that merchandise is finding it's way to the discount rack. As most people anticipated, the demand for Avatar merchandise is limited at best. The banshees were seemingly a flash in the pan success but that has certainly tapered off. They've been at the outlets as well.
Doesn't help it's mostly ugly merchandise ... a lot of Everest merch is at the outlets too.

There is a difference between being based on a generalized theme that could cross-promote a specific IP compard to the current obsession of specifically building around a particular IP.One-way synergy, yes.
But Fronteirland was much more intense synergy. Davy Crockett was one of the most popular TV shows of the time. A TV show made specifically to synergize with the Fronteirland portion of the park.
Yeah, there are diferent scopes on ip-theming. You can build a "Animation area", you can build a pixar pier/land or you can build a Toy Story land. There is a difference between being based on a generalized theme that could cross-promote a specific IP compard to the current obsession of specifically building around a particular IP.
I fail to see how that is relevant to my post. Fronteirland is still an implementation of synergy - albeit a much more successful and preferable implementation. I was correcting the statement that Fantasyland was the only one originally which was synergistic. There is a difference between being based on a generalized theme that could cross-promote a specific IP compard to the current obsession of specifically building around a particular IP.
There was an initial rush, like any new thing, but there are few attractions/properties in the park that drive merchandise. A ride's popularity doesn't mean the merchandise for the ride will be popular.Doesn't help it's mostly ugly merchandise ... a lot of Everest merch is at the outlets too.
