They’re relatively new.

They need a clean. And burnt out motors replacing. And burnt out bulbs replacing. And selective masking.

Also, I’m sure this has been asked before but I forgot: can Tron operate in rain? Does the Canopy do enough to allow it to operate? I ask because it’s been pouring here today at WDW

I wrote a list out a few weeks ago somewhere else here. Top of my head...

Preshow one windows lighting
Preshow two numerous broken props, misaligned or burnt out display lights
Load UV lighting ineffective
Load ceiling projections missing
Load ceiling starfields inoperable
Load backlit signs broken
First brakes signs broken
Both lifts signs broken
Alpha lift wall lighting partly broken
Omega lift wall lighting fully broken
Both lifts control booths lighting broken
Both lifts control windows windows flithy
Both lifts launch displays broken
Numerous star projectors static or off
Earth gobo projection misaligned
Animated gobo projections bad show (keystone effect)
Music quality very poor
Most spot sound fx broken
Re entry audio mis timed on both sides

Again, just off the top of my head. Nothing fan driven, just documented show items that have issues. Some of which have been in this state for a long time.

Guessing that the plan is to close SM sometime after MMRR and G:E open to make it shiny for the 50th.

Gives them a 2 year window approximately.

Your list tells me and my aerospace engineer brain 2 things:
1. Only perform critical preventative maintenance procedures until complete overhaul is to be conducted.
2. Only perform required periodic maintenance until all parts are high time for replacement.

Most likely. "High time" in maintenance "speak" is vernacular for the maximum number of hours a part or assembly is safely rated to operate before total replacement or rework.

I'm sure you probably knew that, but wanted to state it because it sounds like I'm using slang out of an old Western movie. Lol

I agree. Remember that their idea of a "special enhancement" for SM during MNSSHP was simply to turn off all the lights.
