Seeing how fast they got on top of replacing Tower of Terror in DCA and The Great Movie Ride in DHS, I'm surprised it's this far past announcement and no there's no real progress to be seen.

Unlike at DHS, there is no pressure to get something new into MK as soon as possible. They want TRON Cycle to open for the 50th, so, this is one they'll take their time with.

Tron isn’t a bad decision for MK, it just might not be the best next decision. I really don’t have a problem with it.

I think it's a bad decision for MK. I would have much rather seen Tron realized in HS or not at all. No, I think TRON was/is a knee jerk reaction from both parties (TDO and Fandom) MK didn't need a coaster and it certainly didn't need one in Tomorrowland.

It was exactly because of this. Of all the parks in all the world the MK doesn’t need a roller coaster in the dark built next to a roller coaster in the dark.

Let alone the price it’s costing for +\- 60 seconds of thrill ride time whilst the area around it has far bigger problems.

Let alone the bump in attendance it will bring to a park that can’t handle crowds anymore. What’s the answer going to be? Raise admission even more to reduce crowding? Because they certainly won’t be lowering the phased closure threshold.

I dont think its a bad idea. I think it fits and yes it will put two coasters side by side, but, with vastly differing themes and ride experiences. They can open Tron, shut down Space Mountain and finally refurb it completely and then have two very impressive rides side by side. The bigger issue I have is twofold...The overall rehab of tL is a must and there must be another people eater or two put in place. Whether in Stitchs old home or in Laugh Floor. Buzz needs a really bad update and cleanup. Those need to coincide with the Tron/Space Mountain timeline. And then that creates a bit of imbalance in the park. They need badly to do something in Adventureland. There have been lots of rumors but Adventureland and even Frontierland will need something to create balance in the park.

Especially if they can't even properly maintain the first mentioned roller coaster in the dark. Unless they do a proper refurb to SM, there will be a stark difference from something new, fancy and smooth right next to something old, aged and rough. Apples to apples, right?

Everyone’s assuming Space Mountain will stay indefinitely after Tron Mountain opens.

I think this is a good thing for MK since it will provide more ride capacity but will probably not draw a lot more people to WDW, unlike Galaxy's Edge where any increase in capacity is going to be totally offset by an increase in attendance for a while at least.

And if the budget had gone to a proper Tron themed rebuild of the speedway plus Fire Mountain in Adventureland?

You’d get your draw, you’d get your thrills and the park would be better off for it.

There could even have been some change left over to give Space it’s refurb that’s been deferred now for ten years and counting

MK is going to have some serious lopsided foot traffic. And to think I actually thought Stitch might close. Not with the bombardment of folks in Tomorrowland. There's an unforeseen ripple effect of Tron's impact...More Stitch! Think SM will finally get it's overdue down time for track replace and upgrade. Monies went poof! If anything wait times will likely increases initially, eating up fastpass+ before tapping off to an average wait; of which TDO will then decide that it can prolong and delay the inevitable track replacement, again. But that's OK. TDO is giving us a new theater in MK. Nothing says people-eater like a theater. Sure it was needed but it's not like it's going to eat any of the thrill junkie influx. I wonder what other unforeseen ripple effects this will have on MK as a whole. Price increase? Certainly.

I've always had a thought of building Tron into/onto WoL. Imagine entering the gold (or a repainted silver with some blue accents) dome and being in the Game Grid. Having the coaster do its little flyby at the "back" of the dome before it enters into a tacked on show building (hidden) behind the dome. Then you could have another attraction somewhere in there as well plus the typical Flynn Arcade stuff. You could have some very neat lighting and ambient music inside a fully enclosed environment. I'm not a fan of IPs being forced into Epcot, but I feel having "computer" pavilion using Tron would be acceptable. MUCH more acceptable then GotG, personally. Even then, I still think CC/Innoventions should be used for everything computer/tech related.

With a different exterior, TRON could fit DHS, but with the current layout I struggle with where they could put it. With the same exterior, I just can't picture it anywhere but Epcot or Tomorrowland. If they wanted a Guardians coaster so bad they should have put that in Tomorrowland, do a hybrid coaster/dark ride. Put a coaster in Adventureland. Update Energy, use Wall-E if IP is mandated.

TRON could have gone to Epcot if they were determined to have a coaster.

I'm not upset we're getting TRON in Tomorrowland, but the park has other needs. It wasn't needed *now* but I don't begrudge it coming.
