Here's the view from the Contemporary. The white outline is the big box, the blue is the canopy...

Here's an even more disheartening view from the Contemporary...

I don't get any sense of a 'disheartening view'. Trying to prove a point by posting photos from the Contemporary is really stretching what your average guest is looking at. The only thing that's truly disheartening, is Disney charging extra for a 'Theme Park View'. Most people consider it a Parking Lot View! :(

I think we don’t have to worry too much about the giant blue warehouse being seen (from tomorrowland that is). Most pictures of Shanghai Tron are taken from the upper level of tomorrowland. In MK guest will never come that high, so their sightlines will be much better in this regard. I can tell from personal experience that the tron ride looked AMAZING from shanghai Tomorrowlands lower level. And from that angle you couldn’t see the showbuilding because the little part you would have seen (behind the dip in the middle of the canopy) was themed with those white waves to hide it.

In MK they won’t do the upper level as shown in the concept art. They’ll go with the escalators. Too bad the US parks never do the different levels in a land anymore because I think thats what makes parks like tokyo Disneysea so beautiful. But people here don’t like stairs, so I’ll just have to let that one go.

It’s true that the showbuilding was visible from the higher level in Shanghai, but those different levels made Tomorrowland just soo beautiful over there.

The white waves are on a separate building, which isn't being built in MK.

I couldn't see the castle from across the hub, sitting on the outdoor patio of the Plaza Inn! They let the trees grow so much that any sense of forced perspective has been ruined.
I don't think the forced perspective ever really was convincing anyone at any time on Disneylands castle. Personal preference but to me the overgrowth of foliage at Disneyland is one of the things that makes that park so special. It actually feels like a park and a respite rather than a gigantic concrete wasteland.

I also think Disneyland's castle is the best castle, even if it is tiny. By far the most pleasing and welcoming design.

Yeah, how about that TRON? Can’t wait to see this at the MK!
Just wondering how different it will look from Shanghai’s?

any hope space mountain will get love after?
I don't have any but that's not saying a lot.

Personally I see this project as poor value for money and a knee jerk reaction. For what it's costing, Space could've got the work it so needs, the Speedway could have been vastly improved and a cutting edge, suitable TRON dark ride style attraction could have been built.

Magic Kingdom needs more rides, so this is a good addition. However, I'd rather it be something like a nice new Dark Ride, or an EMV, or anything with a high capacity. The theater is great, especially on the High Capacity side, but Magic Kingdom needs new stuff.

That's a good question. I know what the MK version is. It is a very large sum, only currently eclipsed by the Guardians of Epcot project.
I’m confused by this. I would expect things like the Battle Escape Ride, Pirates in Shanghai, and Mystic Manor to be in the ridiculously high price range. But coasters? I guess I just don’t see where the money goes.
