I figured as much but was just curious. Thanks for answering, while I’m sure Disney would like to maintain their relationship. But on the other hand, why would they really care? Disney can end their deal with OLC at anytime (right?) so I feel like they have leverage there. I highly doubt they’d go that route unless something really bad happens but
I’m not sure on what sort of termination clauses exist, but Disney likes the Oriental Land Company’s money. They have to pay Disney’s bloated costs and get to goad them into buying more to new Disney “standards.”

What attractions were developed for OLC that ended up in other parks?
They didn’t clone entire attractions, but they developed new technology. The true trackless technology behind the three latest rides at Walt Disney World was initially developed for Tokyo Disney Resort.

And Disney didn’t seem to have a problem bringing that technology to Paris, California and Florida so it doesn’t seem Disney is concerned with it?

I don’t think they were saying Disney is really concerned just that OLC felt Disney was using their $$$ to develop tech for other resorts and it put strains on their relationship. That’s kind of why I was like it doesn’t seem like Disney really cares and they have the upper hand in the relationship with OLC anyway.

Because Disney built Ratatouille in Paris?
Because they built stuff like Disney’s California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Park while pushing Oriental Land Company to build Tokyo DisneySEA. Magic Kingdom slapped together Laugh Floor while Tokyo Disneyland built Ride and Go Seek. It was a whole pattern of Disney being as cheap as possible while pushing Tokyo to be expensive and cutting edge.

That doesn’t make any sense... when they added Soarin to Tokyo they added all kinds of elaborate theming. Same with carpets of Aladdin. I’m of the impression that Tokyo wants to spend more money because they want a more quality product.

So I thought the look of the other Tron attraction that those were solid panels and not plastic. I wonder what the material is made of to withstand hurricane winds...

It’s ETFE.

Inflated plastic - ETFE

Good article on it here:

Same material used for the swimming venue built for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Maybe that is what they will use to replace the PTFE roof of the dome, needs a new one in any case
