On the earnings call, they mentioned almost every major construction project other then TRON.
Is that enough work done to be able to finally open the train back up??The pause has already happened only the canopy will be complete all other work on Tron is on hold.
I haven't seen anyone confirm either way, but I seriously hope the train tunnel is part of the canopy phase of construction. It would be extremely disappointing to start the 50th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom with the WDWRR out of commission. My hope is that they've resumed track work in Fantasyland because they intend to complete the loop and reopen the train very soon.Is that enough work done to be able to finally open the train back up??
Yes. Get WDWRR up and running. TRON can wait.I haven't seen anyone confirm either way, but I seriously hope the train tunnel is part of the canopy phase of construction. What surprises me the most is how little you actually see it from Tomorrowland. At least in these photos even the canopy is hidden away and barely sticks up above the people mover tracks. It is a cool view from the speedway, but that seems like the only place you can really get a good view of it.ok, so I took a bunch of pictures to address some of the things that've come up on here. I tried to take pictures to make people as mad as possible. Two caveats. One, PeopleMover (WEDway or TTA, your choice) was closed. So I'm sure some offensive shots were missed. Secondly, I did not go on Astro Orbiter. It was cold (probably 50s at ground level) and personally I put that on the Skyway level of "ok, it's high, you're seeing all sorts of ugly stuff. get over it."
My personal TLDR: Views from inside Tomorrowland aren't bad at all. Views from the hub are minimally impactful. Views from Storybook Circus (particularly the Barnstormer queue) are pretty awful.
Here we go...

That will help it blend in better with Tomorrowland Speedway. They should leave those rust-colored supports just to **** people off more.

Boooo. Boooo. Bad form-No and no ETA or work order for the completion of the train track once construction starts back up they will still have more concrete work and hardscape work to do in the area. I do not expect to see the train back up and running until mid 2022.
What a great way to honor Walt's legacy. /sarcNo and no ETA or work order for the completion of the train track once construction starts back up they will still have more concrete work and hardscape work to do in the area. I do not expect to see the train back up and running until mid 2022.
After all his noise complaints they paused to let the old man rest. Compassionate company they areWhat a great way to honor Walt's legacy. /sarc
To be fair, the old pathway from TL to Storybook Circus will become a Tomorrowland expansion, so there will be new views of TRON from the land. What surprises me the most is how little you actually see it from Tomorrowland. Unless there are better views of it from Tomorrowland that I just haven’t seen yet, it almost seems like it’s easier to see the gravity building from in the park than the canopy, and that’s just tragic

I'm excited about it. I'm sure I'll love it. I'm happy to see anything TRON.Since the day it was announced, I've said it's facing the completely wrong way.
In Shanghai you can stand in the hub and clearly see the length of the canopy. It draws you to the land.
In WDW you'll only see the end of the canopy from most angles in the park, and it'll be hidden in most cases.
This entire thing was shoehorned in a horrible spot, rushed to greenlight because the design was already paid for. It was a nice ride, but it's STUPIDLY short. It should have been redesigned and placed better if they wanted to bring it into WDW. This whole thing is a mistake the way they did it.
I mean... Tron is basically a tent in front of a box and that's what most of Storybook Circus is. Perhaps one could make the argument that Tron is actually an expansion of Fantasyland and not Tomorrowland if it's viewed as an arcade at a circus. The design of the building disrupts the aesthetics of both lands equally, anyway.Given the proximity of TRON to Barnstormer, I’ll be curious to see how the pull off the transition between two rides that couldn’t possibly be any more different thematically. Not much room for sensory tickles. Surely they can do better than the other Tomorrowland-Fantasyland transition where you see Mad Tea Party behind Sonny Eclipse.
Imagineers didn’t get EVERYTHING right in the ‘70s...

But you're probably right.
It was a nice ride, but it's STUPIDLY short.
And yet it still needs a giant box with an attached canopy to house it. Like GotG, you have to wonder if it's the best use of space.
