My youngest brother just had his first kid.
Said brother is my Dad’s only other kid - and I’m not having any - so the bloodline goes on.
He has our crazy Sicilian lips!
He will be called by the abbreviated “Leo.”
They live in NY so, much like the other nieces & nephews, I’m unlikely to see him much or know him well as a kid.
It’s a good day, all the same.![]()

Congrats to him on graduating and getting a new job! That's such an exciting, yet scary time in your life...starting out something new and unknown, hoping to be successful and happy. I'm sure he'll rock it! What will he be doing?Update on Logan, he just accepted a job in Iowa that starts on Monday!
Thanks!
Thanks! I don't know exactly what he's doing. His degree is computer science and engineering. He and his partner on their senior project have been hired to implement it (I think it is some kind of virtual reality thing) for a construction company that they worked with throughout the project. He tries to talk to us about it, but most of what he says goes over my head!! Talk to me about life sciences any day, but the math and computer stuff is beyond me!!Congrats to him on graduating and getting a new job! I can’t believe Logan already graduated! Congratulations to everyone! I know you were so proud. Not Disney related, but we are on our way to Pigeon Forge/Dollywood and had to make a stop. Logan and I got brisket sandwiches and Owen and Brian just got snacks.

Interesting! My son starts college in the fall doing Embedded Systems Engineering, which I know has something to do with computer software, but I don't understand it completely. He went and did a whole day of classes to see what it would be like and I think they said they start with making a remote control car or something? Or maybe it was something with Solar power? Thanks! Sorry - bit of a long ramble but you will understand my worry and excitement.
Last September we wre booked to stay at POR with 2 friends. Husband of friend felt unwell in July 2024 and has tests which resulted in them having to cancelWe had a lovely 3 weeks with a much more relaxed trip than normal. Trip for 4 was rescheduled for this September whilst waiting for diagnosis. In April it was eventually decided that he needed an operation and subsequently underwent a triple heart bypass and hole in the heart repair. (Hence the worry
)
He had the op 3 weeks ago and is on his way to a complete recoveryAs September is too soon for him to be strong enough to do all he wants to, do yesterday 2 of us spent a while on the phone to Disney amend/cancel snd rebook!!
We are now booked in yo POFQ for 3 weeks in March 26! Never been at this time of year as all our previous trips have been later in the year (reason for excitement!).
Just needed to offload as we've been so worried recently![]()

Thank youWow, it sounds like you and your friends have been through a lot. I hope his recovery continues to go well, the rebooked Disney trip should give him something to look forward to. March is a lovely time to go to WDW, the weather is milder and the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot will be going on with the lovely topiaries.
Sorry you had to cancel this September but what a relief that your friend is recovering well from such a big operation and you can all look forward to a great holiday next March.Sorry - bit of a long ramble but you will understand my worry and excitement.

I was thrilled to find this thread you started a couple of years ago. It’s lovely to have some place to put things on here when you haven’t got a trip report going that you want to share with fellow magicians. It’s great to catch up with everyone through the year as well.Hi all!!
I just wanted to say hi to everyone and to say happy anniversary to 3 full years of this thread!!!
I looked at the date a few weeks ago and couldn't believe it had been almost 3 years since we started this.
A lot has sure changed for many of us in that time period, both good and bad, and with those changes I hope everyone has felt supported by the people on here, I know I have.
It has been lovely getting to know you all better (both in person and through this thread.)
I don't have anything exciting to post today, just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope you are all having a wonderful summer so far.
