Trip planned for November to visit C for a long weekend. No Disney since Joe is coming so we're going to Universal for a day and possibly Cocoa Beach for a day. I wanted to book Hoop Dee Doo for dinner one night. They are booked at 60 days out. Any ideas?

Did you put a reservation finder request in at Touring Plans? Something might come up. If you want similar food you could try Trail's End or Whispering Canyon.

I hate to admit it but I've never used Touring Plans. Is it worth it? It does cost a small fee, right?
You can use the reservation finder with their free account. Though the site does have a paid option that’s very inexpensive.

Adding the reservation finder site:

Packing and watching everything going on in Scotland/London for the past week but I swear I'm working. Apparently they predict 20 - 30 hours waits for the lying in state.

Safe travels! I hope you have the best time and if you have a moment (and wifi) come back here and tell us how it's going! Would love to live vicariously through your trip! :) Although it's such a sad time, hopefully it will be offset by the chance to be in London at such a historic moment.

I'd love to know how it works out for you - I thought about it for my next trip but was scared to put the money down.

I see others have already answered you on this, but I wanted to apologize at my late reply. On that note, I have only used the free one and I have had a lot of success with it. The worst is when the text for the alert comes through at 2 am!
I love Touring Plans reservation finder, I've had a lot of success with it.

But, my fun one was when I was driving the car one day and a reservation I really wanted at the time (can't remember now what it was) popped up and I screech the car to the side of the road with lots of annoyed people behind me. I didn't give them the sign, I felt they were justified in their irritation but I did yell out the window, something along the lines of-sorry Disney planning you know!
I was too slow though and didn't get it that time.

Had another pop up for the newly opened Story Book Dining as I was stepping off of the plane in the nasty Vegas airport on our way to Sac. Jumped very quickly on that one and got it!

So my uncle drove me to the train station, took the train about little more than an hour in Boston. Got into Boston and paid for the silver line.

And they call it part of the subway but it's really a bus that goes above ground to join the wonderful rush hour traffic which took a lot longer than it should and saw someone running a red light in front of the bus. Bus reminded me of a Disney bus leaving the parks.

Finally made it to security which I went into a longer security line in order not to deal with a wicked grumpy (not the word I want to use) TSA agent. Eating choices are too busy and too high end so I just got a sandwich an hour before boarding. But it's a good thing I took an early train into Boston. 413 train instead of 520. My flight begins Boarding in like 40 minutes.

Sorry for typos, I don't do well on the phone.

I thought others on here might enjoy this tweet. I’d never thought about it! And given the many conversations I’ve seen in here over the years about queues, I thought others might find it funny too!
It was in a buzz feed article about the queue to pay respects to QEII.

Got in at 910 am, out of the airport by 1030,. The electronics passport didn't work and it was love at first sight with the city.

And I'm going to central London now.
I've decided the trick is to stare directly at the camera and give it a death glare - like the one your mom would give you when you were misbehaving and you were going to hear about it later. ;) I think it's because the US passport office wants our photos to look so serious (no expression) and the AI can't match the faces if we are talking/ smiling, etc. Still - nothing like the "UK Border" sign to brighten your day after a long flight!
ETA- fixed boarder to border. Sorry.

That is freakin awesome!
I can't spell, at all, and would like moving forward to be able to just say "we entered the Q", and everyone will know what I mean!
My spelling is so bad that on the iphone when I've clearly misspelled a word and I touch on it for clues it says no replacements found!:banghead:

I tried taking pictures with my new camera (which takes surprisingly great pictures at night for a point and shoot) and only got 70 for the first half day. I took these with my cell. The last picture is part of the queue for the Queen which they actually shut people from going into it.

And apparently TSA threw my shaving cream away even though it was 3.4 ounces which is on the website. But apparently it's 3 ounces now. Or at least in Boston. I packed everything into a carry-on for 10 days.
