I had Optimus Prime call my son. It was really funny with the "Be careful of your so-called classmate, Anthony. We think he has joined the other side and goes by the Transformer name of Starscream." As soon as my son heard that, he said "Yeah, because he's really annoying."

 too funny!

I just recently watched it for the first time, and I actually liked it. I'm surprised I did since it was a Micheal Bay film. The only thing I didn't like was the lame humor. Shia's parents were annoying and not funny, the eccentric government agent guy would put Jar Jar's irritableness to shame, and I roundly hated the scene where Bumblebee peed. Still, I thought it was an exhilarating, fun film.

BTW, I can't wait for the riff trax too! And I can't wait to try out the new Rifftrax player which synces it automatically which is a BIG help.

• Megatron’s right-hand bot, also known as Soundblaster, is featured in the alternate mode of a microcassette recorder

Wasn't Soundblaster a variant of Soundwave and not the same bot? I thought Soundblaster came in around the time Fortress Maximus and the headmasters showed up. I had them both as a kid and I thought Soundblaster looked different...(wasn't he black instead of blue?)

Here's what the sometimes reliable Wikipedia has to say about it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soundwave_(Transformers)

Transformers: The Headmasters

Although Soundwave did not appear in the American cartoon series finale, the three-part The Rebirth, he returned to the forefront in the new Japanese-exclusive series, Transformers: The Headmasters, which was created to replace The Rebirth . Reborn as Soundblaster (New Soundwave in the English version and Vizar in Italy) Soundwave's new toy incarnation was, like the series, available only in Japan.

In the opening cut and thrust of Headmasters, Soundwave and Blaster engaged in their final clash in the Arctic Circle as the Autobots and Decepticons were in the process of searching for the missing Autobot Matrix of Leadership. The two opponents inflicted fatal damage to each other, and Soundwave's body exploded even as Blaster collapsed, albeit his fragments were recovered by his cassettes. Using reconstructive technology from the planet Master, the leader of the Decepticon Headmasters, Zarak successfully rebuilt and resurrected Soundwave as Soundblaster — essentially identical to his former self, except for his predominantly black color scheme. As Soundblaster, he served the same role as he had as Soundwave under the leadership of Galvatron and later Scorponok, frequently embarking on spying missions with Ratbat.

Ok, so Soundwave was NOT Soundblaster...Soundwave was blue...and Soundblaster was black. Galvatron and Megatron are not the same...yes, same spirit and mind...but different bodies. Soundwave and Soundblaster is the same case.

 Ratbat...bad name but a very cool cassette. My favorite second to Ravage.

I was forced to watch the film by my DH (I really didn't want to watch it, Transformers are NOT my thing!) and I loved it! I want a Bumblebee! He was so lovely!

(Am I just a typical girl, or what?!?!)

Bumblebee was completely different back in the day.

Bumblebee wasn't the sleek muscle car that he was in the movie...he was a Volkswagen Beetle so you'd probably fall in love with him even more...because he was the little guy.

I was dead against Bumblebee being a camaro...but I was wrong...he really worked well in the movie and I agree with Michael Bay. If Bumblebee was a VW Bug, it would've been Herbie all over again.

Okay, this webcomic uses a bunch of figures such as G.I. Joe, Final Fantasy and the like, but today's update has The Transformers. Bear in mind that they try to update Monday, Wednsday and Friday, so the like will just take you to the most recent comic. So if you go there in a few days, it will be different:

Well, we dabbled in it over in the Car Discussion thread but it seems that Transformers 2 filming has been going on so it's now time to drool, fantasize, and imagine what Michael Bay has in store for us for the sequel.

The rumored title is:

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

(This may be a play on the word "Fallen" because in the comics, one of the original 13 'bots is named "Fallen")

So far, we know that the originals will be back (aside from Megatron and Jazz).

Rumors so far!
Jazz may return as he has been seen on the set (Charcoal Pontiac Solstice)
Wheeljack to be a Saab Aero-X Concept
Arcee to be a Buell motorcycle (Or Can-Am Spyder)
If not Arcee...there will be a Can-Am Spyder.
Possibly an Apache Helicopter
Jetfire or Shockwave may be the SR-71 Blackbird
The Chevy Beat Concept will also be a 'bot.

Now, during filming, an RC Monster Truck was driving around...whether this is an actual transformer or just a visual "stand-in" for the actors is anybody's guess.

Also, rumored to have 20 robots in this one..compared to the 12 in the last.

EDIT: Also, Bumblebee got some muscle...and bling.

It kind of stinks because Bay said he was going to flood the market with false information/rumors so nobody has any clue what the truth is. But its always fun to speculate!

Thats cool, I always liked wheeljack. The title might be true as well as Bay has that posted on his site, but I guess we wont know for a while. I do like this from Bay

First there was “Back to the Future,” and then “The Matrix,” and then, more recently, “Pirates of the Caribbean,” where literally the last thing said on screen during the second film was a cliffhanging new plot point. If you’ve got a successful franchise, why not link the second and third movies, forcing audiences to wait upwards of a year for resolution?

Because it’s friggin “lame,
” “Transformers” director Michael Bay insisted to us at the MTV Movie Awards, telling MTV News that the second go-round with Optimus Prime would be entirely self-contained.

I am not a big fan of the cliffhanger ending so this news makes me happy.

If I'm not mistaken...isn't Wheeljack to praise for the rise of the Dinobots?

Wheeljack and Mirage are my favorite Autobots...as are Shockwave and Soundwave my favorite Decepticons. It sounds like 3 of the 4 will be in the next one...but who knows...maybe all 4.
