Lots of new photos from DLP Works on twitter. I have to say, the lake area looks really good so far. I think it's gonna be wonderful to walk there, a great vibe, especially at night. Truly something WDS is missing right now. Also love that they designed it in different levels. I know it's mainly for more viewing space for the nighttime spectacular, but it's something they have eliminated in newer built lands/parks. But it gives the space much more grandeur and makes it just ecstatically pleasing. I think after Lion King, this park will do great business with all the popular IP. And when I let go of all the dreams it could have been, I'm sure to enjoy it as well.

All the new photos of this expansion are great.

I can already imagine myself entering the park through one of the most beautiful entrances of the Disney parks with the charming fountain (the only thing that was good in the original WDS). Then discovering the indoor area with all the new decorations which look fantastic. After going through the Walt Disney Theater, we discover the impressive Tower of Terror or the Fantasia hat depending on what exit we take. Then we turn around to take Adventure bay with the North Mountain far in the distance. As we start walking this long street we can discover several things, including the access to the Tower of Terror on one side or some toilets on the other site. Walking a little more we can access Toy Story Land with 3 rides and the new statues (small Instagram pause here). Accross the street a cosy garden with some live entertainment or a popular character meet'n'greet (Mickey should have a permanent place in this park too like he has in all other Disney parks). A few steps ahead we arrive to a charming pond with Rapunzel and Flynn on the boat (second Instagram pause), and we find our 5th attraction since we entered the park: Tangled Spin.

From here we can take a new path to the Theater of the Stars and Avengers Campus, or we can continue walking a little on Adventure Way until we get to a plaza with 2 souvenir kiosks, toilets, a viewing point facing the impressive Arendelle, the huge Regal View Restaurant and Lounge and a round point where I'm sure they will put some seasonal decorations (finally a big Christmas three in this park?). If we go left, we find another beautiful themed restaurant/quick service and beautiful gardens, as well as a sneak peek of the Lion King area under construction. If we go right, we walk along the highly themed Regal View Restaurant and pass some toilets to arrive to another existing ride: Cars Road Trip. We continue our journey passing by another kiosk (Cars merchandising?) and 3 more food kiosks along more gardens. A door on the side let us dream of Avatar and then we find another small beautiful building with more food before arriving to a bridge with views to a river with a forest on one side and the lake on the other side. We admire the views and we arrive to Arendelle.

In the World of Frozen we can discover a big restaurant, a shop, a large kiosk, the Frozen boat ride, and enter Arendelle castle (by a service door) to meet Anna and Elsa. We have already seen all this park has? No! We still have to go back and explore the gorgeus Ratatouille area. Luckily we can get there using 4 different ways. After that, it's time for a new parade maybe? Or it's show time for amazing pieces like Together and Mickey and the Magician? Has Moana taken over Animation Celebration now that Arendelle is open? Or Maybe we are joining Nick and Judy in Gazelle's concert instead in Animation Celebration? Our little travellers want to meet Spider-Man, so we venture into Avengers Campus too, which now has 2 entrances. It's been a nice day in a beautiful park which used to be an ugly parking lot with a U shape and 1 single path. But wait, we must go back to the lake, an outsanding night time show is about to begin.

To sum up, is this a perfect project? No, but it's an improvement and a good transformation of the worst Disney park ever built. It's taking a lot of time, but we are going in a good direction. This is the way!

The park has some good rides, nice restaurants and amazing shows, what it doesn't have is that pleasantness of being in a park, the lake and surrounding areas will change that. I can go to Disneyland Park and just enjoy my time there without riding anything, the same can't be said for WDS, but with that new area, it looks like that is coming.

Unsure if anybody would know, but is all that has been announced - Update to Studio One, Improvement to Entrance Area, New Lake, Tangled Spinner, Frozen and Lion King Ride and new Nighttime show is as far as it goes in to making WDS a worthy Disney Park? I just want to think this is only what has been announced and there are further plans not announced properly yet to build up this park.

Actually, as I typed this all out it sounds quite a lot - but considering where we are starting from (even though Avengers Campus has now opened) it still doesn't feel enough to make it world class.

I think the attraction line-up sounds pretty good by itself on paper, with a decent mix of thrill rides and family rides. The park's big issue was the lack of a compelling package in which to wrap those attractions, particularly compared to the park next-door. I'm a little sceptical that the whole "Disney Adventure World" concept (if there is indeed an overarching concept) correctly addresses that problem, but we'll see, I guess.

There are 2 (maybe 3) more good sized areas around the lake that there must be plans for. They’re not like the Epcot expansion pads that have been used for other things, they will be big open spaces that guests walk past.

Actually your right. When I started listing all the additions and changes I started doubting what I was thinking. However it is the "wrapping" not the attractions that are the issue for me.

Let's hope some meaningful additions get added to those areas then. It is going to feel a very empty walk around the lake - it needs atmosphere.

It would be far more relevant to compare it with DCA in 2012

DAW will still be the worst Disney park but it wont be an objectively bad park anymore
100% agree.

Not really sure what could be worse? DHS? DAK? HKDL?

They’ve all gotten / will get better by the time DAW completes its improvements.

Truly though, won’t be anymore terrible Disney parks.
