Perhaps you missed this show…

I honestly thought that this show was great in a hilarious way. I'd be happy if the Alice show was this much of a trainwreck masterpiece.

Kite Tails you could just walk in to, it had a fun pre-show for kids, the music was fun, the kites were hilarious and then you could just move on with your day. 15 minutes of entertainment for next to no time investment. The only downside was the heat if the sky was clear.

Have you seen the design of the ride? It's an art nouveau styled tea cup ride that happens to have boats and lanterns with a Tangled design.

I guess it depends on your views on modern theme park design. I'm not a fan of one IP lands unless it is really required and even then I think Disney has only ever done this well twice with Cars Land and Pandora.

I'm not sure when we last got a land or area that wasn't one IP themed at a Disney Park? Shanghai with their traditional MK lands? I guess Fantasy Springs at TDS even though in my view that is so IP heavy it's basically 3 one IP lands joined together by rock work and greenery. I reserve judgement until I've experienced it.

The Tangled spinner will fit perfectly in the art nouveau gardens that are the promenade to the lake and then the path around it.
I don't really get why a studios park will now feature art nouveau so prominently, though. As far as I can recall, the logic behind the gardens and the choice of that architectural style seems to be just that they think it will look nice.

I don't love single-IP lands, but if they have to build them somewhere I can stomach them more at the Studios parks. Honestly, if one of the distinguishing features of the Studios parks was that they allow you to step literally into the worlds of different movies, I could see a certain logic there that differentiates them from the other Disney parks.

In this case, though, I don't see any thematic logic behind all the new connective tissue they are building to make the park hang together. The impression, at least, is that the Studios theme is going to sort of remain at the front of the park, then more or less disappear and give way to generic Disney theme park once you move past ToT.

Yes I’ve seen the designs, Tangled and art nouveau will really struggle to be a perfect thematic fit imo.

Just seems very very random to me. Almost like they’ve gone through a list of IP that isn’t majorly represented in either park and decided Tangled was the main IP missing.

If that is the case though, why would they not have gone with Beauty and the Beast, which is set in France?

The park is "Studios" in all but name. Just like Hollywood Studios really. I am sure they have considered renaming the park like they did for DHS but then they find there is no suitable name so they just stick with what they have got. To be honest I think WDSP is a more fitting name than DHS but both are tenuous.

"Disney IP Park" is probably the most on the nose name.

Well yes, I think in an ideal world everything in the front of the park excluding AC, TSPL and Rat would be demolished and they'd start again but then if they did that we wouldn't be getting any footprint expansion or additional capacity. So they have to work with what they've got.

So the new park journey will be Studio (Front Lot) Cinema/Theatres (Studios 1,2&3) then immersive (to varying degrees) lands off the lake. Keep in mind the only "land" that doesn't connect to the lake is the Crush's Coaster corner of Worlds of Pixar and Rat. Everything else will bridge off the lake/promenade.
I understand, but given its location, an Avengers show would have made far more sense,
Did you see the Avenger's show in Studio Theatre? It was awful. And that was what you get in a theatre rebuilt for a bespoke show in controlled indoor conditions. An outdoor Avenger's show? It could work but it would need a purpose built arena not what we currently have and again ideally it would be enclosed. Better to focus on what we have in AC and focus on getting the Stunt Show demolished for the Avenger's E-TIcket.

It was. But that seemed to be more due to being distracted by high tech and a mess of choreography on the stage. An outdoor arena show by its nature would have to succeed or fail by large scale choreography (like MA). But it is what it is. I think it’s got a chance of success in a madcap DLP (or even euro Disney) kind of way. I just hope they remember it’s not meant to be permanent.

seems they are arranging it so the stage show will be accessed through the middle pathway leading to the lake so it will be its own space not connected to AC. Thats fine with me

I haven't seen the new Pixar show yet (I've had bad luck and it's been closed both times I've been) but from what I gather it uses a lot of the Marvel tech and creates a good show. I think the problem is Marvel films are so much CGI it's almost impossible to create the same theatrics in real life. Characters have to fly on wires, laser blasts don't exist, characters have to human sized, there are limits on how you can "kill" the bad guys or how much you can destroy/blow up.
I just hope they remember it’s not meant to be permanent.
Let's face it... if the Alice show is half decent and people turn up it's going to be here as long as the capacity is required in the park...

I hope they use the massive stage as a multi ip show space but prob not. It's still nice to have a massive outdoor show at a Studios park imo.

I think we'll see a new generic themed land, not themed to a single IP, when Animal Kingdom announces their plan for Dinoland
