trams from the parking lots

The parks are at reduced capacity-- less people driving using the parking lots, therefore they require a less number of trams yet they do away with all of them rather than provide a few and still charge the same parking fee. That's about right for the new Disney-- screw the guest maximize profits

Because the reason there are no trams is due to social distancing and Covid protocol. Having less trams would not solve that problem. Also even when operational there are usually only a few trams.

Also as you point out the parks are at reduced capacity and there are less people driving and using the parking lots. Therefore with the exception of Epcot the parks are rarely parking guests mid lot or beyond.

Respectfully disagree --Plexiglass separations and masks take car of covid protocols.
"Around 23 trams operate in the Disney World parking lots. "
IMO they could still cut the number and provide limited tram service.

any idea when, if ever they will return?went to MK today, it was a good 15 minute walk from my car to the tandt center.why cant they board every other car, or install plexiglass dividers like the ones on the monorail we rode in today?plus do not tell me about manpower, on our walk in we saw several groups of 3 or 4 castmembers standing together doing nothing.

Was it really 15 minutes? The average person walks at around 4mph, meaning if you're an average walker you parked 1 mile away from the TTC?

Actually no, plexiglass does not solve the problem as the primary concerns with trams are not on the trams at all.

Yes, there are many trams at WDW. But those are divided among 4 parks and not all used at the same time. Good luck finding a day at Epcot, DHS, or DAK where more than 2-3 trams are in use.

I must admit it has been years since used the parking lot and trams but when we did back in the 90's there were a lot more than 2or 3 trams running and there was never more than a 5 minute wait. Guess they have cut service way back over the years. No demand or increase profits?

We are staying on property but are opting to drive since we have a baby and don't want to rely on busses. So are there no trams etc from parking at any of the parks? Yes I realize that we will be walking a ton anyways but just curious what to expect when we arrive on Sunday.

There are currently no trams running at any of the parks.

True, they would still have to bring workforce back for employees to adminiater procedure.
It’s about Disney saving the dollar. Disney still charges the same and have but services tremendously even though the parks are prettt full. It’s not about social distancing or anything like that since they can do the type of screens they have in the safari. Screens between every row and they work fine. No reason they can’t do it on the trams.

It all adds up to savings, operational cast to drive the trams, mechanics to do maintenance upkeep, gasoline, tires, etc. Paying more getting less .

There really isn't a reason to not have trams operating right now, this is about saving money. With reduced capacity at the parks and reservation systems in place, markers could be placed on the ground, dividers placed on the trams, and rows limited to 1 party. If Disney can figure out how to operate attractions and monorails (Which are now also operating at higher capacity with added dividers), I think they can figure out the trams too. All that said, it's not a terrible walk; however, my parents don't get around as well as they once did. When I go with my parents, I make other accommodations to help avoid the extra walking for them.

If there are no trams running can a driver drive up close to the entrance to pick up their parents?
