The rumor is:
1. Mater's ride re-themed to Woody and wagons
2. The new Lugi's tire ride (a trackless LPS ride) re-themed to Buzz/flying saucers
3. The RC racer ride from Paris/Hong Kong
If the new Luigi is basically Aquatopia (Tokyo DisneySea) without water, it'll be fun, but "meh". That said, these three rides, if your rumor is right, will fill a gaping hole in DHS's offerings (OK, there are lots of holes, but this one's been there forever). The park has needed rides (lots of shows already there) for kids and families. Mater is a great one, and RC racer is excellent as well, although I hope they double track it, because the capacity in Paris is atrocious.

I'd be happy with this as a first step of several in expanding DHS. If this is all they do, it'll be a huge disappointment.

Just curious, How would TSP increase F&B sales by 200%?(Which TWDC would take in a heartbeat even if it meant building an extremely subpar TSP in O-Town)

I thought the 200% F&B sales increase was just a figure of speech but if someone can provide some evidence for this, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, not sure if the original post meant adding 200% in F&B sales to the entire Universal Studios park or just that Simpsons area. If it is the former, hopefully there is some evidence that directly correlates this increase to Springfield and not other factors (i.e. Diagon Alley, general increase in park attendance for various reasons) . If the latter, then considering there was nothing in terms of F&B in that Simpsons area to begin with, any addition in terms of F&B would be an increase (probably at the expense of F&B sales in other areas). I am assuming adding TSP would result in an increase of some sort of F&B or merchandise sales depending on what is being added.

It sounds like based on all of these rumors we can expect 7 new attractions in the next 6 years at Hollywood Studios with Great Movie Ride going away.
3 rides in Toy Story Playland
Indoor Radiator Springs Racers variant
2 rides for Star Wars
Great Movie Ride replacement

Where Springfield is was The International Food and Film Festival food court. The 200% increase is for the transition from International Food and Film Festival food court to Springfield. It is location specific.

I would like to think that we will see more than 4 total new rides in all of "Pixar Place". There is a ton of space among the old Backlot Tour footprint for more attractions than that, especially if LMA eventually goes away. I'm somewhat curious how Cars will be executed -- will it be a full "Cars Land" or just some attraction and nearby food/merch? If it's a full Cars Land or Radiator Springs, I would expect more than one ride.

Also, I don't think that the GMR is being "replaced" as much as renovated/tweaked.

This is very in line with what Jim Hill reported in a podcast last year. He also added the possibility of a carousel as well. There would also be food and merchandise components beyond just the rides.

But who truly knows?

Agreed it is definitely a huge improvement considering how terrible the Internal Food and Festival was (probably the worst of UNI). I guess we will just have to wait and see what replaces the Backlot Studios food court when they revamp the area for TSP.

This is inline with what I'm hearing.

The Cars attraction should be interesting. What I'm hearing is RSR+Rat-LPS ride system=Cars DHS.

I hear the LPS system is coming to the GMR replacement.

By Great Movie Ride replacement, does this mean the whole Graumann's Chinese Theatre is being demolished?

A real Pizza Planet would b a gold mine. And a Gasteau's, Tiana's Place, and The Cantina at Mos Eisley Spaceport are no brainers.

That makes sense. The Simpson's food court was fine, as theme park food goes, but really didn't do much for me. Food is one area where Uni still lags WDW by a wide margin. Except for Butterbeer. Butterbeer is better than any non-alcoholic drink at WDW.
